Sports Shack Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Elk Grove Township

Paps has been around for quite some time and used to be a pretty good place to go to watch a game and have a drink. Havent been there in over 3 years and went back for a burger today. They now have gaming machines which is good, however thats about the only updates that have been made to the place. I was in early around lunch time and there were a few people there. As in days past, The bartenders seem to hang at the corner of the bar near the front doors and cant see customers sitting by the tappers over the old antequated island that holds all the booze bottles ( needs to go) so i was sitting there with my menu for quite some time before being noticed. The tvs one of which was not working were adequate but again antequated and in need of replacement (but hey. If its not broke dont fix it right??) I ordered a patty melt and fries which was absolutely delicious..actually the best patty melt ive had in a long time....cheesy, greasy and plenty of onions to go with my bacardi and coke which tasted off. Trust me, im a bacardi drinker. It was either well rum or watered down. Either way, a great place to eat but cant help but ask myself if this place has out...

Today we are in Mount Prospect for a quick food stop while on a group motorcycle ride. We heard great things about Paps Ultimate wings and HAD to try them. The place is big and clean and has plenty of seating. Bar is big and could see myself here catching a game or two. We ordered The wings and Taco special, fries and a Bloody Mary. (What can I say, it looked delicious!) The wings were the star of the show! Ordered a bunch of different sauces, and we were so hungry we SMOKED through them. Great bar and grill! Great food! Great Bartender! And always Fun times on Saturday Karaoke nights. Most people are friendly. I know I am not a good Singer, but I enjoy getting up there and singing songs I like. I know I have a strange appearance on stage. Even off stage, if you wanna be exact. I know I don't have many fans, if any. I do get applaud, not by many, but why do I keep coming back? I keep asking myself that question over and over. I think is because I feel comfortable with nice people...
