Mr. Beef and Pizza — Restaurant in Elk Grove Township

This is a bit of a story, so sit tight.

My friends and I were hungry. It was 7pm on a Tuesday. We decided upon American food. But what kind, and from where? We filtered through all the options, and came upon Mr. Beef and Pizza. My partner mentioned he disliked it - but he hasn't had it for 10+ years, so who knows? It could have changed in that time.

So we order a couple of items for delivery. Let me tell you: it was a smorgasbord. I know my friends are every last bite, and I savored my own: fish filet sandwich and a cheese dog. The fish filet was, well, the normal fish filet sandwich (though I'd never had it with onion before!) but the cheese dog was an absolutely amazing thing.

It was a Chicago dog (minus the sport peppers and celery salt) SLATHERED IN CHEESE. I almost wish i had the sport peppers!! SO GOOD, I almost wish I had two.

4/5 stars only because my friends said the Italian beef was decent, not amazing. But we did think it was a good,...

UPDATE: April 2025. I have been eating here with a group about every three months. I have tried different menu items on each visit. All have been very good. My only "complaint" was how they serve the polish sausage. It is on French bread vs hot dog bun. My personal preference is the bun. On today's visit I ordered the Polish and requested it on the bun. The order taker was confused and had to ask someone in the kitchen.. of course she came back and said it was ok. Next time I need to ask for it Maxwell Street style. *?????????? Ordered 2 slices of Sausage pizza. Very surprised when I received my food. I expected the "typical" size slice. Just be forewarned that the slices did not hit the expected. The slices were huge. You know I've been coming to this place for a while now, good food never had any problems today I came through the drive-thru I order a chicken sandwich with the medium fry 30 seconds later I was surprise how fast it was but my order was ready she handed it to me I looked at the receipt it's a chicken sandwich with the medium french fries, ok looks good.. I drive home the 15-20 minutes I open up my sandwich box and it's 3 pieces of chicken tenders on a bun with lettuce, tomato and mayo...
