It’s very upsetting when people leave fake reviews. You can tell especially when you see so many positive reviews in a row. First time here, and spent over $80.00 for food that tasted as if it were microwaved. Ordered the bang shrimp and it was very chewy/overcooked. It was laid on a bed of lettuce which ended up with most of the sauce. My fettuccine with mushrooms was very watery, gross consistency. The pasta was too firm. How do you mess up fettuccine? The chicken that I ordered on the side wasn’t too bad. The shrimp scampi was very salty with too much vodka sauce. The restaurant was quite empty, but the service was poor. The waiter walked by a few times and I know that he noticed our empty glasses, but didn’t even bother to ask if we wanted a refill or even an alcoholic beverage. I finally grabbed him when he walked by again and asked him for a refill, but he wandered off and welcomed a group of 4 at the bar instead, and started to make their drinks before getting a refill for me. Then he completely forgets about my refill, because of how long he took mixing cocktails, and asks us if we want a refill when we’re already fed up and wanting to leave. I honestly feel like it could have been because we were women. There was literally another table there with a couple who was finishing up. Why the poor service? Very upsetting to go out on a Saturday wanting to enjoy yourself and have some drinks, but spend way too much for bad food and service. This restaurant is like the equivalent to Olive Garden but quadruple the price. We didn’t even get a “thank you for your business” when leaving. No “hello” or “goodbye” ridiculous. Again, please remember it was pretty dead in there. For the amount we paid I expect better service. I would never come back, nor recommend this place.
UPDATE:
I find it extremely hard to believe that your restaurant deserves close to 5 stars on its own, without family and close friends leaving reviews for you. Also, never did I state that you paid for reviews. This is MY opinion. You are no where near the rating that you have on Google. You have similar ratings to restaurants like Gibsons, which is absolutely absurd! You are no where near that level in ANY way.
I said that the food tasted as if it were microwaved. You responded that you do not have a microwave - Great! Have a talk with your chef so that you can figure out why the shrimp was so chewy, and why the pasta sauces were so salty/watery and then come up with a solution on how to improve for future patrons.
You do not use vodka sauce in your shrimp scampi, then why did my sauce have a strong taste? Possibly wrong sauce used?
4)Your response is ridiculous here. How can you tell me what I experienced? You are being dismissive. Again, reread my review. I was not offered any alcoholic beverages. Yes, you’re correct, there was a menu on the table. What is your point? I said service was slow and the server was not attentive (other reviews state the same). Why order more?
Yes you quickly checked on us, yet you still couldn’t tell that we were not happy? Didn’t notice the empty glasses in front of you? What would you like? I was not looking for any discounts, or a free meal, or even a different meal. How do you mess up fettuccine? Why even try anything else? We were already fed up and ready to leave with how long everything took, especially when you admitted to how slow it was. You’re dismissive.
It’s not because I was a woman? Wonderful. Your mansplaining, and invalidating my personal experience, begs to differ.
BINGO! It was dead. I understand what time it was. I was questioning why the slow/poor service. I PAID $80 for a bad meal with bad service. I expected more after reading your “not fake” reviews. It’s upsetting.
Now you’re calling me a liar? Perhaps the goodbye happened when I was already in my car and pulling out of the parking lot? I heard nothing from your staff.
You can take this review and choose to either improve for the better, or continue to mansplain some more and call customers liars....
Read moreMy husband and I wanted a do a luncheon celebration of about 14 people for my sons graduation. We came here beforehand to check the place out and try the food. We both ordered off of the lunch specials menu and got the chicken parmasan which was good. We talked to the manager and had a couple requests. One being that could they serve the chicken parm on a plate instead of the small bowl which we got. It was awkward to eat this kind of dish from a bowl. No problem is the answer I got. Second the manager requested that we order only 3 -4 dishes of the special menu for the party which I did. I asked if the guests could be given a small menu card with my choices so that each guest could choose and see the explanation of the dishes, no problem again. Great I made the reservation. I will also add that I told them we would be doing open bar so guests could order any drinks they wanted. Day of the party came No menu cards, chicken parm in a bowl! I would have printed these cards myself if I knew they would not do this . No manager came up at anytime after or during our meal to find out if everything was ok with the open bar my bill was well over $300. With almost no one else in the restaurant I think this would have been a nice gesture. Especially for a newer place trying to get established. I might add that all the people at the luncheon were from the Mt Prospect area. All that being said., the food was good, most ordered the chicken parm, no complaints except I got a couple people question the bowl. (I’m telling you, it is awkward, and I’m not picky) Also one of my guests , who doesn’t eat meat ordered the gnocchi, unaware that it had pork in the sauce. (This is why I requested the menu card). I had the gnocchi and it was delicious. I would go back there for this. Other options were swordfish salad and burger. No complaints. The atmosphere is very nice also. I just wish they could have taken care of us and done what...
Read moreService was excellent. I ordered the carbonara, it was a thin sauce that was translucent brown. Not anything I have ever seen called carbonara, very bland. My wife ordered the gnocchi with braised pork. It was clearly food service pasta, as they were all exactly the same size and had the exact same fork marks. Some part of the dish had been frozen at some point. Again, not much flavor. The kids pizza was actually by far the best item we had. 2 adults, 2 kids, no appetizers or dessert, soft drinks only, $65.22 before tip. All portions were small, which is not a problem in my book. I could have made either if the adult meals with Trader Joe's starting materials in about 15 minutes. Go to enjoy the service and the company, not the food.
The setup has more space as a bar, so keep in mind that the bar is the focus, not the restaurant. The setup looks like they want to be a place that professional / empty nesters meet after getting off the train from downtown. The only problem is they are not that close to the train. Second, Mt. Prospect is still a very blue collar town. Not a place many people have the disposable income to while away the evening with $8-12 glasses of wine on a regular basis. I wish them well, but I would be surprised if they...
