McDonald's — Restaurant in Elk Grove

The place is very clean & almost immediately received service.. maybe because the dining room was empty. I showed up there about 7:30 to 8 pm. I ordered the double quarter combo with an extra large fry. I had to beg the cashier for singles back & offered a $10 bill for more singles while the register was open. It was like pulling teeth. I can see if I didn't order anything that you would be hesitant to even make an exchange or as if I come into your establishment wanting to use the restroom & not purchase anything. I purchased $20 worth of food & get a hard time for a reasonable request? As if the place wasn't busy ALREADY... the cashier proceeded to take back the initial offer because there appeared to be not enough singles. There were about half a dozen cars in the drive thru line before I walked into the store & another dozen that left the drive thru just before I got to the parking lot. I mean this particular McDonalds was really, really busy! So I knew that there was going to be a wait... Especially going into the dining room. I get my food & it was correct & everything is good until I get home to eat! Half of both my large fries are empty! I ordered 2 ✌️LARGE FRIES & got maybe a while large fry at best! 😟 Ok... They were nice, golden brown & hot(only like MCDONALD'S 🍟 could be) then the 20 car pile up with that scratch in the record to boot! I go to eat a fry at a time & they are stale & hard as if they were dropped back into the oil for the second time or they thawed being left out of the freezer & put back in after thawing too long. 😤😠😡🤬The oil wasn't old but it wasn't fresh either maybe they mixed 2 different types of oil that were used but not too used! 🤯 Now, I gave them ANOTHER CHANCE because my roommate went the day before around NOON but before 3pm & he got the same results... His words were "I'm not impressed!" DON'T FALL FOR THIS PLACE AT THIS LOCATION! IT'S TRASH! They are only giving HALF the food that you paid for & ordered! Buyer...

There is so much hate about this location. I don’t understand why they would choose to remove the soda fountains from the lobby. Customers cannot get refills, and if they ask for a refill, they are given a whole new cup and straw, which is completely wasteful, and can’t be cost-effective. The staff member took my order without ever making eye contact or welcoming me. While I was eating, there were at least three other customers who were having problems with their orders, and asking to speak to the manager. One customer was complaining that their soda tasted horrible and something was wrong with the syrup. The manager just said “it’s fine” and she and the other employees were talking amongst themselves in Spanish at the front counter.

Update: I came back to this location because I was in the area. I was literally the only customer, but it took 7 minutes to get my order. Finally the manager saw me standing at the counter and said, “Do you need something?” I replied, “I’m waiting for my order.” She said, “What did you order?” I pointed out that my order was the one up on the board where it says NOW SERVING.

If rating solely based off experience, they'd get 5 stars because everyone there was nice and the service was quick. But I only get salads and water here (amd that's maybe twice a year) because I know how extremely unhealthy McDonald's is. I mean when you have to put a sign on your windows that states their foods can cause cancer and birth defects... Why wouldn't you just make better quality foods that don't kill people? I mean, cancer is a killer and they warn you, again, on their windows in black and white. So I'm not being extreme, I've just lost an aunt to cancer so the words are a reality I've lived through and I think it's horrible for anyone to go through that. So for this chain to knowingly make foods that extremely bad for you and not dare to change up the recipes is just like, why? I do not feed my kids McDonald's. I'd rather go to anywhere else, which is usually less than a 30 second drive away and feel better about not purchasing food for them that can cause them life threatening...
