Culver’s — Restaurant in Elkhorn

Got the flavor of the day today(cashew carme) and it jad a bleach-like aftertaste. Will be warning everyone about this.

Updated 5/2023 Ordered one scoop Carmel cashew in a cone, one two scoop Carmel cashew in a dish and a two scoop flavor of the day in a cone (chocolate covered strawberry). We received both Carmel cashew in dishes, one with the cone on top. When I asked where my two scoops of flavor of the day was, the girl delivering it to our car initially goes “umm… nope not on here.” Then she finally sees it on our receipt and goes back for it. I end up with my ice cream in a dish with no cone. This Culvers should be shut down. Its reputation is probably dragging down that of every other Culvers within 30 miles.

Taking back everything positive I have ever said about this Culvers. Today, went to get the flavor of the day as advertised on the restaurant- specific website. The placard on the drive through microphone said the same flavor of the day as advertised on the website but the store’s sign said “ cookies and cream” instead of the advertised flavor of the day. Ordered and specified that I wanted the special of the day as advertised (sea salt double caramel pecan). Kid on the drive through mic confirmed it. Got to window, they took my money and gave me two cookies and cream. Asked for my money back and instead of giving me the $20 bill I handed them, gave me a bunch of change and $19 in assorted bills. We enjoy the 'Flavor of the Day', but the Elkhorn store uses the least amount of 'flavor' of any Culvers within 30 miles. I'm guessing they use one fourt, to perhaps 1/2 of the 'flavor' when compared to all other area Culvers. When we order a lemon ice with a flavor (i.e. raspberries), they don't put enough in to every turn the lemon ice a light pink color. There have a heavy set male boss that yells orders to employees and the kitchen, that you can easily hear him from the dining room. They are under staffed, under experiened, and most importantly to us, 'under' prepare the toppings on the flavor of the day, ice cream, lemon ice, and all other treats. Under the prior owner, they were first among the county Culvers. Now, they are clearly in last place. Wow, Kevin was possibly the friendliest fast food employee I've ever met! I stopped with my family for lunch (it's our tradition on WI trips) and pick up ice cream for the week. He was really patient while we ordered (and then changed our order!) And even came to make sure it was fine while we were eating. The place was spotless even though there were several tables. The only complaint was we had decided to get the ice cream through the drive through and it was slow. Like, really slow. After we paid and got to the window we were asked to pull up and park to wait. It was maybe 10 minutes of waiting before I went in to ask what was taking so long for 2 pints of vanilla. Then we were given the wrong order, so I had to go back to ask about the frozen custard.
