Taste of China — Restaurant in Elkhorn

My 1st RODEO-DEFINITELY NOT MY LAST! A friend told me this place was better than my favorite in the area, by taste & costs. So far cost, was very reasonable for amount of food ordered by phone for “lunch take out” $23 plenty for 5 hungry people - did not expect the quantity of each dish, nor the quantity & size of the cuts of beef & chicken was a pleasant satisfying first as well! The veggies make or break for myself.... I don’t care for them over-cooked, too soft, I don’t need baby food... or tasteless if not for a sauce. NOT THE CASE HERE! Every component to the entrees as well as the rice & my fried chicken, ALL cooked to perfection!!!!!!

2 lunch take outs. Beef w/Broccoli & Chicken Lo mien. Plus had to try their chicken wings (nice size 8 pcs)

Each comes with: REAL chicken fried rice ( as in not just tan rice ), 1 Egg Roll & 2 well stuffed Crab Rangoon!

If you have not tried the cuisine here (maybe not the ambiance for dine in you prefer), or looking thru windows you feel a sense that this “fast food Chinese” looks just like others I’ve been to and wouldn’t go back if meal was free.... Well, let me express, in my humble opinion, with taste buds very much in tact at 53. Learning side by side as the prep cook (grunt work) at home w/my dad, who was a Master Chef during his career, at the finest restaurants downtown Chicago had/has to offer, 40+ yrs ago, along with Chinatown minutes away, etc. “TASTE OF CHINA” KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING!!!! I'm assuming there may not be too many people in this area that look like me👀. So with that being said, the lady at the counter is and was very rude. Everyone else that came in here of a different complexion was greeted with " hewwhloo khan I tate yoo awwwder" with a smile. I get to the register and she just stares at me. 🤦🏾‍♂️😂🤣. So at this moment I was only going to get to vegetable rolls. But I was going to come back later and spend close to $200.00 to feed about 15 -18 truckers. Including myself. Now I will take my money somewhere else. I always try and support and spend with local businesses before big corporate places. But small close minded people like this establishment make you think. We chose our anniversary to visit this place for the first time. The restaurant is tiny, but the food and the service is wonderful! It's the first restaurant I've seen where you can get the lunch menu any time of day - and even customize the order! We both ordered combos and decided to eat there. The waitress/cashier brought our food to us, and even brought us each a bottle of water. Luckily the food was already in nice takeout containers because we could only eat half. What we took home was enough for another delicious meal. I can definitely recommend the broccoli beef and the broccoli shrimp! This place is cash only, so...
