Found this cute little gem in Elkhorn. It is located in a strip mall across from the high school. It is pretty nondescript from the outside. Kind of looks like a fast food place on the outside. On the inside it is pretty cute! It is small and the tables are close together. We were there early in on a Wednesday, so it wasn’t busy. They have a limited appetizer menu, no calamari. We did not have an appetizer. Dinners come with garlic bread. Salad or soups are available for a charge. Now, the salads we saw looked delicious, but we opted to just have pasta! We tried the Fritti Di Mari, it was fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp and scallops. The pasta tasted like it may be homemade, cooked perfectly Al dente. The Alfredo was delicious and I am picky, in fact I would have liked a bit more of the Alfredo, but wanted to try it how it comes the first time! The shrimps were good, but kind of small, the scallops had good flavor but were very small, I’m including a picture. They were generous with the portion of pasta and there was quite a bit of seafood too. We tried the penne All’ Arrabiatta it was penne pasta in a spicy red sauce with sausage. It was spicy, but good! We also tried an order of meatballs. Then come 2 to an order for $5.50. These things were HUGE! They had great flavor but were a little over cooked on the bottoms. They come in marinara and that was delicious too, it had a hint of sweetness to it which I love! They had lots of choices of desserts, we tried a 5 layer chocolate cake…it was ginormous, rich and sinful and the tiramisu also delicious, creamy would definitely have them again! They do not have a dessert menu as their desserts are always changing, so definitely ask your server! Our server was great, friendly and efficient. It was a great semi local find and we can’t wait to go back and try something else! The pizza looked amazing! Prices were reasonable for the quality and amount of food. It was about $25/30 per person with an entree, soda and dessert. The restaurant was clean and bathrooms were clean. They have a bar with stools for seating and offer a large menu of wine and fancy...
Read moreWe stopped here on a Saturday night around 7:00 PM on our way back from Illinois. It's a cute little place tucked into a strip mall, but nice atmosphere inside. The place was pretty busy, including a nearby table with about 14 people, but we were greeted and served really quickly. We actually had 3 different servers come to our table and ask if anyone had come to take our drink order yet. Everyone was very friendly.
The food was excellent. I had a 10" thin crust pizza with three toppings, and it was some of the best I've had in years. Generous portion of stringy cheese, big chunks of flavorful Italian sausage, and the sauce was just right. It wasn't a cracker thin crust (which I do like), but it was very crisp. I'd compare it more to a traditional crust. We had garlic bread too which was yummy, and served with some warmed marinara sauce for dipping. I liked that the garlic bread wasn't soaked and dripping with melted butter, there was just the right amount on it. My husband had fettucine alfredo with sauteed shrimp, and he said it was marvelous. They were very generous with the shrimp, too.
Despite the place being pretty crowded, we were served our food extremely fast. Everything was reasonably priced, including cocktails and wine. Our bill was $55 for an entree, a 10" 3-topping pizza, an order of garlic bread, one cocktail and two glasses of wine. My only regret is that we live nowhere near Elkhorn so who knows when we might be able to come back. :(
I'll add my public service announcement: we are old school (and old!) and give/leave cash tips, and we have found most servers to be VERY appreciative of that. I would suggest a cash tip whenever possible when dining out. (I carry a lot of small bills in my purse for that...
Read moreMy family and I went here tonight and i was highly impressed with the overall experience. You can tell the management is on point - very clearly runs a smooth ship. When we arrived, the place was packed and there was a large party that was trickling in as we walked in. The woman who greeted us was very attentive to the people walking through the door and her voice was loud but still pleasant and it felt very welcoming to be acknowledged as soon as we entered even, though everyone was obviously very busy with the guests that were already seated. Our waitress was great as well she juggled probably more tables than she’s used to so the other server could handle the party and she did great nonetheless. No mistakes to our order and she was hustling which never goes unappreciated. The woman who greeted us, (who I’m assuming is the manager) was so gracefully doing 27 things at once and delegating tasks to other staff members effortlessly. Love to see it. Now, last but not least: the food!!!! The meat sauce is “to die” for - sooooo delish; so much flavor! The ricotta cheese mixture in the ravioli was seasoned just to my liking. It was a little heavy on the black pepper but coincidentally, that’s exactly how i like it. The Alfredo sauce was smooth and creamy and didn’t separate as it cooled. All the pasta was cooked perfectly. My family and I cleared our plates and that never happens! 5 stars! And thanks for the...
