My son and I went over to the Walworth County Fair on Monday September 5, 2022 specifically to watch the demolition derbies. When we arrived we had to pay $5 to park for "Event Parking." Not a major deal, but all advertisements announced free "Event Parking." Then when we got to the ticket booth, I told them 2 adults for admission and 2 for the grand stands. I was told that I had to pay my admission at the gate, then go under the grandstands to purchase the grandstand tickets. However when we got to the grandstand ticket counter, there was a sign stating that the grandstand tickets were sold out. I ask what the chance would be to get in for a later heat, but was told they only had about ten seats available with over 100 people waiting to get those seats. I then went back to the main ticket counter to get a refund because we had only been there about 15 minutes. I was told to go talk to the "Treasurers Department." Supposedly they are the one ones who can give refunds. The treasurers office would not give a refund because, "If we gave refunds to people who come to the fair for a specific reason, and that reason doesn't happen to be at the Fairgrounds that particular year, or they run out of a particular food or beverage item, then they would be giving refunds all day, everyday." It all could have been easily avoided if the grandstand people would have called the admissions office and told them to post a sign out front that all grandstand tickets were "Sold Out!"
Ended up spending $5.00 for Parking. Ended spending $24.00 for admission. Ended up spending $28.00 in gas driving there and back.
$57.00 wasted because the Walworth County Fairgrounds can't have a communications between the grandstand ticket office and the admissions...
Read moreThe fair experience was very great except for the ride experience.. The ride carnies are extremely rude. I was standing in line waiting on “speed” ride for literally 40 minutes while they were letting single riders go on at least 3 times in a row! When I was about to go on the ride operator stopped me and said “you can’t go solo” and proceeded to let the couple behind me go. It was very infuriating. This is very disappointing because I had no one else to go on. I was not gonna waist my time asking every single person waiting in line if they were a single rider. It’s not fair they had the audacity to let single riders on and for me to wait 40 minutes for them to say no to me. The ride I was waiting before “speed” was “the zipper” I was not even halfway to the line before the ride operator stopped me and rudely told me I wasn’t allowed to go on due to me being a single rider. It’s not fair for me and the other people who pay for the tickets for the carnies not giving the opportunity for single riders but instead the tell them to go ask strangers to ride with them making the person very...
Read moreOutstanding Festival. This is one of my favorite fairs to attend. Walworth surely knows how to keep traditions going. I have been coming here for 15 years and each time I find something new that I love.
They have been bringing in large names each year to play at the festival. The demolition derby is enjoyable for all ages(ear protection recommended) and the Methodit Church has a stand here that serves delightful food for a decent price. Search around and find the cream puffs stand. Make sure to also try the new concoction they decide to deep fry each year. When that catches up with you, make sure use one of the many different washrooms that have personal maintanance on site.
Visit the live animals being judged. The tractors are neat to check out. Not to mention they have a carnival onsite. Good luck getting it all done in one weekend.
Hope you enjoy as...
