Wow, what a huge event! The fairgrounds are massive and there were literally hundreds of vendors. Wish they had been laid out in a more organized fashion or that we could have consulted maps of the grounds since it was difficult to keep our bearings. The event loses a star for lack of available parking. We saw dozens of signs advertising "event parking" but there also appeared to be a high school event so it wasn't clear where we were supposed to go. Read moreThis antique junkie totally loves the Elkhorn market. I'm into primitive type antiques, and the country decorating type antiques abound here. This market is as popular as ever. Get there early for best selection, but I've found wonderful things even in the afternoon. It's a 3 hour drive for me, but I would not miss a single show! One of top ten antique shows in Midwest for sure. Only downside I see is that it can get very crowded at times, and maybe the food could be better, but try the brats from under the grandstand, and dont forget the sauerkraut! Unless you go with a list or a goal in mind, prepare to be there aaaaaallll day, prepare to walk, and prepare for ANY weather. I highly recommend taking your truck or hatchback vehicle, a cart, and a strong friend. If you're looking for something in specific, I also recommend getting there early--items go quickly.
