I came to update my review from years ago and realized I didnât write a review years ago. Either way, 5 stars. Both now and then. We used to love to come and talk to Douglas who worked in the tasting room and was very friendly and knowledgeable and very very funny. He poured us a free glass of wine before our tasting because a bachelorette party had just come in and we would have to wait a while for our tasting. He gave great Elkin food recommendations. We visited while Douglas was working a few times and once even got a quick tour downstairs from the owner. Then Tamara worked there for a while and was fun and always gave great recommendations for other wineries. In fact, today we visited one she had recommended years ago and loved it. Now Mandy runs the tasting room and boy does she. She is everything an owner should want in a Winesta (as she called herself, sorry if I spelled this wrong). She makes sure everyone is comfortable, happy, and learns about the wine and how to best enjoy it. Mandy excels in customer service. This winery clearly knows how to hire good people and make good wine. This time, we especially liked the Cab Sav and red blend, but the Barrel Chardonnay was also good, and everything is unique and pleasant. Lots of souvenirs and good pimento cheese too. Five...
Read moreMy wife and I visited Adagio for the first time on a late Saturday afternoon in the fall. We wanted to enjoy a bottle of red, and after Tim the winemaker gave us tastes of the Cabernet Sauvignon and the Petit Verdot, we opted for the latter. Since a wine tour group was inside, we opted to sit outside on the porch and enjoy the autumnal weather. The wine was quite good, and Tim checked on us to see if we needed anything. Although almost all of their grapes grow out of sight from the winery, the hospitality and (especially) the wine itself earn Adagio high marks. Their prices are very reasonable, particularly when compared with nearby Vineyards. Restrooms are clean and have nifty copper-bowl sinks, and there is a cool outdoor area with a sink and fire pit,...
Read moreWe have been going to Adagio since 2015 and have loved it every time we go back. The wine is always great, the people always friendly, and the experience is always peaceful and fun! The tasting room is so cute and clean, and you can bring your own food and sit anywhere. I love how they still do tastings at the counter and explain each wine. The owner Tim is such a nice person, very knowledgeable about wine, and nice to chat with. He gave us a personal tour of the barrel area and explained the wine making and bottling process to us on our most recent visit. It may not have the scenery of some more âpopularâ vineyards, but the experience and wine is way better! We will continue to go back and continue to bring friends to experience this...
