I bought a couch and a love seat in April 2022. I purchased the approx. $500 protection plan. Well my love seat broke. So they sent someone out who said it needed a piece replaced. Well instead of replacing the one piece they brought a whole new love seat. Nobody told me that when they replace the loveseat it would cancel the protection plan I purchased. They brought this loveseat in October 2022. The love seat broke before the end of November. So I called them and asked if they could fix it and they told me this is no longer under warranty from them. I asked them to just take both pieces back since two different love seats have broke twice in less than a year. The manager told me that there’s nothing they can do and that he didn’t care nobody explained the warranty. He said that since we didn’t repurchase the protection plan that he wouldn’t replace it. He said he would fail a manufacturer claim and it’s been two months and I have not heard anything. I am paying over $3000 for a couch and a broken loveseat that is not worth the money. I really just wish they would pick these up and take the furniture back and I could buy a different couch from somebody else. Read moreI purchased a coffee table and 2 end tables from Elkin Schewels. I've always had good experiences with them in the past but this time was beyond terrible. I did not purchase warranty for tables because there is nothing mechanical to tear up with them. Anyway my husband sat his drink on end table( what they're used for) and the moisture from his cup which wasn't even enough to be visible caused the wood to bow up and when I sat my lamp on the table which has a velvet bottom the finish came off. Nothing I have ever purchased has been so poorly made.It looks horrible. I had purchased the tables 10 days prior to this happening to them. It should have never happened. The customer service was terrible.The lady at corporate office argued with me and was very rude. I was told without warranty I'm just out of luck.What ever in the world happened to customer service? I used to love Schewels and recommended them to anyone needing furniture, but not anymore. I'm a business owner myself and couldn't imagine not standing behind what I'm selling any better than that. I was honestly hesistant to purchase anything from schewels again. I had financed a washer and dryer, they were charging $2 in interest a day. So Aimee tells me about the promotion they have going on; “no down payment, no payment till July, and no interest for 2 years”. I go to the finance person (Ashley) she asks “how much can you pay down?” I say “$50”; just to be honest, I’m going to have to redo my whole living room to match this new set so if I can get away with not paying anything down, I’m going to. On top of that, I just paid $2300 (in full) to pay my washer and dryer off. Ashley calls her supervisor to get an over $3000 approval.
