Zaxbys Chicken Fingers & Buffalo Wings — Restaurant in Elkin

DO NOT eat in at this Zaxby's! I came by on a Sunday afternoon while driving through the area. I had to use the restroom, so I went inside to order, but still order to go because I still had several hours to drive. I placed my order at 12:35pm, and was not told it would be a lengthy delay, although I did hear them tell the person in front of me it would be 5-10 minutes. There was only one person in front of me and one person standing around waiting, so I had no reason to believe it would take a while. I had to leave at 1:00pm because they were telling me it would still be "5-10 minutes," and I had a long drive and couldn't wait around forever. I tried going through the drive-thru before leaving (the drive-thru orders had been filled very quickly, probably several dozen in the amount of time I was waiting), and they told me there were still 2 orders in front of mine. The worker offered to get her supervisor to refund me, but the supervisor was taking drive-thru orders and looked really busy, and I just couldn't wait around for her to be free. When I called to try to get a refund since I never got my food (outside of the drink), she said I'd have to come in in person to get a refund, or I could call later and talk to her manager, and maybe he could send me "coupons," as if that would make up for it.

Bottom line: they prioritize the drive-thru at the cost of the people who unfortunately try to order inside. They also don't tell you if it's going to be an unacceptably long wait for your food. I worked in a fast-food restaurant 15ish years ago, and we had timers on our orders - anything over 5 minutes was considered late. 25 minutes waiting for food is honestly unacceptable. Oh, and the floors were sticky and gross. This place seems to be very poorly managed, with not enough people, not enough cleanliness, not providing accurate info to customers, and prioritizing drive-thru to an extreme.

To say what I experienced was a big disappointing would be an understatement. My boyfriend and I visited this Zaxbys on a Monday evening. It was not busy just slow paced. We order a number 6 family pack 20 piece tender meal. We live quite far away from any Zaxbys so we like to have some left overs. Our 20 piece with fries and toast came out in like 3 1/2 minutes. I was surprised with the fast surprise but was utterly disappointed when we opened the containers. The tenders were old. Like sat in the fryer for hours and then redropped so they would be hot. They were stale and over fried. The fries were okay but I imagine the same thing happened with those. The toast was soggy not really any crunch just felt like wet cardboard. The workers are okay I guess. My boyfriend and I asked for two water cups, we are just water drinkers. The lady at the counter stared us down like we were going to steal out of the register or something. Like my goodness it’s a water cup and we got water. Just unacceptable. We love zaxbys and we drive hours to go to one. But the service and food at this one was...

This location leaves a lot to be desired. First, can they just clean this place? I've been here a few times, months between visits, it's always dirty and there's ALWAYS fly's inside while you're eating.

The drink machine was absolutely disgusting, there's not a chance it's been cleaned in days or a week, heck who knows. (Pics)

The food was extremely mid. My wife bit into her grilled chicken sandwich to find a disgustingly long hair all inside between the buns. Of course found it when she took a stringy bite. The young man working the register was very nice and helped me get a refund.

The rest of the staff was kinda just floating around and cutting up. Without a doubt they had time to clean that drink machine.

Buckets and containers in the floor to catch the excessive condensation from the vents in the floor, very classy.

No doubt this was my last time coming to this Zaxby's. 41 bucks for a hairy chicken sandwich and so so food. Should have went to Chick Fil A across the...
