We have enjoyed takeout from Angelo's for a few years now with an occasional mistake but that's not unusual with any restaurant.
This evening however I placed an online order and swung by to pick it up after work on the way home. After arriving home I opened the bag to get our food and found that my wife's chicken Caesar salad was ... some other type of salad with feta cheese which she hates.
I called Angelo's and very politely told them of their mistake after confirming on my receipt that I had ordered the right salad. The person who answered the phone didn't say much, had long periods of silence and hemmed and hawed. He asked if we wanted to drive back and get the right salad. I said yes but explained that we live 16 miles away. He said...ok... I asked if he wanted us to bring the wrong salad back to them or throw it out and he said "sure". After about 10 seconds of additional silence he hung up on me. No apology.
So my wife and I drove 16 miles back to Angelo's where my wife went in and exchanged the salads. Again no apology but they did tell her there would be no additional charge. 😡
Returning home after driving the 32 additional miles, wasting about $10 in extra gas, getting no apology for their frigged up service or the extra hour of driving and delay, the miles and added expense for our trouble I then sat down to eat my own, now cold, hot parmesan sub. Yum. 😡
Going to be avoiding Angelo's for the foreseeable future until or unless their service and staff improve to at least the level of common decency and courteous...
Read moreThis is an outdated place. The only good thing about ordering from here is that you're supporting a local business. With that being said this is what i think of my decade long experience at Angelos. Several years ago it was a great place to eat. Its gone severely down hill. The bald guy in the back who also answers phones is so rude. He has served me raw food and food that was improperly assembled and told my he wouldnt replace it and was so mean to me over it. I tried Angelos again months later(just the other day hence the review) and i think he knew it was me cause he cut all my food in half to show.( it was not raw maybe) But everything was still gross. It's 2021 and i don't know why they're using styrofoam. I will not support a place that is still using harmful products even tho affordable paper products and eco friendly products are available. Stuff like using styrofoam when we know as a society it is very harmful and doesn't biodegrade to keep using it even when people are complaining that it's not good and using it to hold your food in because it creates water and moisture is dumb. it's really dumb. This place can't evolve. The only nice thing other than its local is that they hire nice front workers. But even they can't save the experience. We have ordered from here for last 8 yrs always the same order. 2 lrg Steak and cheese w.mushroom. green peppers and onions No American Sub Mozzarella 1 with mayo 1 w.ketchup.Last week idk what we recieved but it had salami on it and it was not good. The young woman said no problem next time you'll get 2 free. She wrote it down while i was on the phone, even what it said. So I call to order tonight and they cant find the note. Okay w.e they still tried to honor it atleast by doing 1 off. This young woman seemed.nice enough but maybe was having a bad day. I asked "do you mind if i check it" and she said "Oh I made sure."I was so relieved only to get home 45 minutes away to have mustard on it. If it was on top or light I wouldn't care but no its soaked right in. But seriously who puts mustard on steak and cheeses. Its so fkin gross. So thats now $27.00+ down the drain.
