It's OK. I order from here often, but only because it's local. Food is very inconsistent. Sometimes it will be great.. other times, it is down right horrible. They VERY often forget things when you place in an order for take-out. The reason I know it's so inconsistent is I really only order one thing which is the Black & Bleu Burger. Sometimes it has bacon, sometimes not. Sometimes it will have the red pepper on it, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it's REALLY GREASY with a soggy bun.. and sometimes it is actually perfect... and etc. Maybe they have 2 cooks here? Still not an excuse. They really need to work on that.
Dining in is nicer, only because the waitresses are really nice and you can actually send your food back if you've gotten it and don't like it. Prices are pretty decent.. but would be a better value if food was always prepared the same way.
I can honestly say that I've been disappointed more times then I've been impressed with this place. Pegasus in Malaga has way better food, more consistency, and the prices are pretty equal. I'm not sure what the heck is going on at Elmer Diner, but I really wish they would fix their issues with not making food the same way all the time! A burger is the ONE THING any food establishment should be able to get right, ALL the time.
Breakfast, on the other hand, is usually pretty consistent. I will give...
Read moreMy husband has eaten here for many years with his softball buddies, although it's been 4 years since he was last here. Since we were close by, we decided to have breakfast here.
We walked in and the wait staff recognized him immediately. It was wonderful. A very warm reception.
The lady that always served them before was serving us today. It was so heartwarming.
We ordered breakfast. I had 3 eggs, hadh browns, sausage and toast. My husband had a combo meal consisting of 2 eggs, french toast, corned beef hash, hash browns, sausage, bacon and toast. And coffee for both of us.
Our order came out quickly. And hot. And delicious. The servings were large. Neither of us could finish and we were hungry when we arrived.
We are coffee drinkers and our cups were always full.
I must say, for as large as the servings were, the price was very reasonable.
We talked with both our server and another. Everyone was very friendly. And happy. I must admit it's unusual to see everyone in a restaurant happy. This was the case here.
It was busy too. Most of the booths were full. And yet no one was rushing around. Everyone was served in a timely manner and with a smile and a cheerful demeanor.
No wonder why my husband and his softball buddies frequented here twice a week. It was a...
Read moreMy first experience with Elmer Diner was probably close to 25 years ago after we had built our house near here and were looking for a place to go close to home on those miserable nights after a long day at work when we just did not feel like cooking. Elmer Diner was not one that was anywhere near a place we felt could fit the bill so we didn't come back until about 6 years ago when we decided to give them another chance. We came once and it seemed to be a little better so we tried them a couple more times with our last visit having a waitress serve us well and also chatted with my wife which was really a smart move on her part. We had finally thought we had found a good place to stop in on occasion but never did as we lost my wife and I didn't feel much like going out alone. I did go in a couple times for lunch with co-workers but wasn't that impressed as they seemed pretty much just another typical diner. A few weeks ago it was my daughters birthday and she asked if we could go to Elmer Diner for dinner so off we went. Everything that night went well, the food was good, the choices were many and the young lady who served us was on the ball. Yes when I have the chance to go back I will as I saw a lot of things on the menu I would...
