This is my first time to a Luna Grill in several years, if ever. I came here today bc it was recently added to my air miles list of places to eat for frequent flier miles. I must say, this place is pricey, very, for a fast casual place and its portions. I got the Chicken & Gyro Meat signature plate that includes basmati rice, house salad, and 3 small wedges of pita and tzatziki for $15.85. That almost sounds like a sit down restaurant price. The portions of meat were adequate as was the salad but overall for that price, seems a little high. Its not like the gyro meat was juicy and hot right off the spit. What was quite a disappointment was the 3 tiny wedges of pita. Its the cheapest item on the plate and at least 1 full size round piece would have been significantly better and maybe I would consider this review differently. For the price, to skimp on something like pita seems pretty silly. I see several reviews saying the portion sizes are smaller. I can't compare on that at all but I expected a little more for, with drink, came to over $20. Another strange thing was when I was sitting at my table waiting for my food, another customer just leaving actually did come up to me and ask if I thought I paid a lot for the food, if I had also paid over $20, and that he was disappointed in paying that much for a small lunch. I couldn't...
Read moreI recently visited this Luna Grill, and I have to say, the cashier there was absolutely fantastic. From the moment I walked in, they greeted me with a warm smile that immediately made me feel welcome. They were incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and took the time to explain the different options to me, which I really appreciated. Their patience and friendly attitude were truly exceptional, especially considering how busy it was at the time.
The cashier also had this amazing ability to multitask efficiently without making any customer feel rushed or ignored. They handled the long line of customers with ease, ensuring everyone was attended to promptly while maintaining a positive and cheerful demeanor. It’s clear they really care about providing great customer service and making sure each guest has a pleasant experience.
When it came time to place my order, they double-checked everything to ensure accuracy and even offered some great suggestions for sides and drinks that complemented my meal perfectly. Their attention to detail was impressive, and it made a big difference in the overall experience. I’ll definitely be coming back, thanks to the...
Read moreAbsolutely unacceptable and disturbing takeout experience:
I ordered nearly $200 worth of food from Luna Grill Encinitas for a takeout dinner with friends—and to our horror, one of my guests pulled a ring out of her salad. Yes, a literal ring inside the Mediterranean salad that came with the Family Meal for six. I've attached a photo as proof.
This was not only disgusting, but incredibly embarrassing as a host. How does something like this happen? It shows a complete lack of basic hygiene and quality control in the kitchen. We lost our appetite immediately, and the evening was completely overshadowed by this shocking discovery, which was unfortunate because we usually enjoy their food. I truly hope this was a one time mistake by one of their newer kitchen staff. Please train them to be more careful and to wear gloves!!
I had intended to go in and speak to the manager in person, but frankly, I shouldn't have to waste my time pointing out such an obvious and serious failure in food safety. I hope management takes this incident seriously and takes immediate action to ensure it doesn't happen...
