Village Square — Local services in Encinitas

This center was extensively renovated about 2-3 years ago. They had a nice mix of tenants, then came the pandemic. Now, other than 2 of the 3 anchors who are big name corporate and/or franchises with deeper pockets, there are a lot of tenants who have permanently closed. Maybe they were struggling pre-pandemic, who can tell. (MANY restaurants fail in the first 2 years.) But it's a nice, though empty, center with good access and plenty of parking (especially now). Encinitas should not have allowed the U Store, the storage facility on the south side of Encinitas Blvd east of El Camino Real.
