Disorienting sci-fi danger zone of pure human risk and god complex hygiene questionability. 100% raw food, some staff are unvaccinated and unmasked - I asked. That means 100% of the time the food at this spot is being exposed to and handled by some staff who are 100% unprotected, and not required to mask, who knows about gloves. This is in contrast to cooked food restaurants, that while disappointingly hire the same demographic, have a much narrower window of possible transmission.
13 years nor-cal organic raw vegan with pristine health - regularly used this diet to heal many people and keep myself from contracting any illness or disease. It worked ...until my super pristine body got tanked by covid from raw food. 2 years bed-ridden on the edge of a coma - unable to speak, heart attack, trashed brain, trashed memory, trashed muscles, trashed bones, trashed teeth, trashed voice, trashed life.
Not sure why i lived - except maybe to come back and tell other raw vegans to drop the god complex. IF YOU BREATHE - the moisture in your breath automatically falls on things - like raw food. At no point in the raw food prep process, does it transcend the ability to harbor bacteria. At no point in your life do your breath and bare skin cease to transmit bacteria. At no point in your raw vegan journey, has god exempted you from transmitting disease, some of them lethal. Not peaceful at all.
Other bizzarities : this spot is incredibly difficult to find - do not turn down the street its on, there is no parking. The entrance is on the side - but very hard to find standing directly in front. The signage is 100% invisible from the main road, and covered behind greenery from the side road. There's a faint, short pyramid board with a small faint arrow at the very bottom, almost touching the street - placed during business hours, and its still hard to tell where in the world the entrance is from the arrow pointing.
Unvaccinated unmasked food handlers are a modern tragedy - work on things that don't go directly in the human mouth. Unvaccinated unmasked raw vegans do the planet a tremendous trick - its a healing art via raw food. Gorgeous facade, flooring...
Read moreMy favorite raw vegan spot in town. Love the new , (or rather re-opened) North County location, the team at the restaurant, and the general ambiance. Will always be my go-to spot for fam and friends who come to visit. The selection of dishes is plentiful and most of the meals I have tried have been delicious. I also love their cheesy kale sides, their raw crackers, and the raw coconut wraps. The menu is inventive and creative thanks to the chef. The only reason I’m keeping my review at 4 stars instead of 5 is that some of the dishes (ex: the Voltaire tacos) to me seem a bit overdone and are far too spicy for my liking. Same for some of their sauces. Some are so spicy they are almost inedible for those with sensitive pallets. Like the curry sauce that is paired with the raw wrap I had. Literally couldn’t finish my wrap because the spice level of the sauce was so overwhelming. Overall a lovely place, and love spending lazy Sunday’s on the patio (especially at night once the twinkle lights come on) just have to learn to maneuver around the spicy menu items which are not...
Read moreThey shouldnt be a customer facing business...but simply a bakery....The worst service but the coolest little spaces to sit/atmosphere ..the collar wrap seemed like there should be more portion for the price . The horchata smoothie was good, the cocnut drink was good, the vegan strawberry pie and tiramisu was alright but def. Seemed overpriced for 2 slices. The mushroom quesadillas tasted like a fruit rollup and rhe dang mushrooms fell out....We waited over 10 min when we arrived and 15 min when we were trying to check out...they were too busy selling their bits and pieces of kale chips to someone and lollygagging...like molasses slow*...the older lady stood there right in front of register looking at kitchen staff prep items....for over 10 min as we stood there wanting to order a drink to start.....there was only 2 other ppl there.... for 70 bucks we could've went to sprouts and laid on the beach ..... sorry guys but youre not fit...
