Kotija Jr. Taco Shop — Restaurant in Encinitas

For a Mexican restaurant in the carlsbad location is, for lack of better terms "whitewashed". Although the portions are plentiful, your likely to feel the need to unbutton your pants and want to relax after taking down one of their burritos. The food is bland and in my experience the pride in presentation has arrived at middleschool cafeteria status. . I've been to this location twice within a month and arrived at different times of the day. For one experience to be satisfactory is understanding, when its back to back shows consistency. Still far better then del taco.

Walking back to my Moonlight Beach Hotel from Beacon's Beach one late afternoon, end of October I Wanted some great casual Mexican. Bypassed several places but when I saw Kojitas had to try it. It looked right and I was not disappointed. Ordered 3 taco combo plate and bottled water. Each each taco with different meat was delicous. Adding to the taste treat is their small salsa bar. We have been going to get take out here twice a week for the past 5 years since they opened. Their customer service in the last 9 months has been beyond terrible! They made several mistakes on our recent orders and were incredibly rude and not helpful about fixing their mistakes. The girl who takes the orders over the phone repeats the order back then three times in the last month she relays it to the cooks completely wrong!
