I have been to this location multiple times without issue, usually on Taco Tuesday. I always order the deal for 3 del tacos at $1.19 each when you buy 3.
This past Tuesday, I drove to this location to repeat this order. Before I left home, I verified on the app that this deal was still in effect for this location. As I got close to the restaurant, I noticed that there was a long line, wrapped around the building....i estimate 7 cars or so. I was going to go to another place to eat bc of the line, but, since I liked del taco and that deal, I decided to wait in line.
After about 5 minutes, I reached the order board. I ordered 3 del tacos and a chicken crunch burrito ($1). The order taker confirmed the order and stated the price was approx $6.30. I told him something must be wrong bc it's usually not that much. I asked if the del tacos were still part of the taco tuesday deal, but was told that they were not. I told him that I checked the app before arriving and it read that they were, but he just repeated they were not. As such, I changed my order to replace the del tacos with the value tacos after confirming they were still part of the deal.
When I arrived at the pick up window after an additional 5 minute wait, I showed the cashier and runner the app, showing the del taco was part of the taco tuesday deal at $1.19 a piece when you buy three. I was told, "Sorry, the manager said it's not." I said, "if I had ordered the del tacos on the app and picked it up here would it have been part of the deal?" "Probably," was the response. I paid for my order and left.
After I got home and ate, I called corporate hq and relayed the above to them. I received an apology and was told that it would be rectified. The lady took my name, phone number, email and address.
To date, four days later, no one has called me, emailed me, or contacted me by mail. Im very disappointed with my experience as I: 1) wasted ten minutes in a long line ( I was going to go somewhere else but decided to wait bc of the deal); 2) didn't get the advertised deal; 3) ended up ordering something that I didn't want so it wouldn't be a complete waste of my time (by the time I discovered they wouldn't honor the deal I was trapped in line); 3) was not taken care of when reporting the false advertising to corporate (corporate didn’t help and neither did the restauarant).
If this is how I am to be treated as a customer, I will not go here anymore and advise that you avoid it too. There are a lot of choices out there...this doesn't have to be one of them. Chipotle or Qdoba are great alternatives and only $4.50 more than what my order would have been had they honored the del taco taco tuesday deal. And the food is better quality to boot.
