Just no, I mean they try but fall short by quite a bit. Hands down worst chorizo in town (tastes like I got some expired chorizo, idk how else to describe it). Refried beans were straight up watery. I really had high hopes since they been open for quite a while but I'm pretty sure they survive solely because of the location and limited options near the convention center.
There are other places for similar food that is So much better and not nearly as pretentious. They really wanna be bougie but the bad paint and weird windows with poorly removed decals give a super ghetto vibe. I couldn't eat more than 3 bites and at no point did the server check if there were any issues, he let me pay and go my way. The check out is awkward as hell, they hand you the P.O.S. device and have you do everything via the device. The server also told me " if you print the receipt, it will ask for a survey and I can see it". Like wtaf, why even say that?
Tldr, they succeed solely bc they got a golden ticket of a location. If you want good food...
Read moreWill likely not go back. Food was very bland, salsa bar was limited with not very flavorful salsa or queso. The queso served with chips was like cream of chicken soup with some cheese flavoring. The kids bean burrito was like watery beans that made a huge mess and had no flavor. My son would have been better eating it in a bowl with a spoon. The tamale was extremely bland and definitely not cooked properly. Food definitely needs more flavor and not so much liquid made with everything. The outside eating area had overgrown weeds growing all around it and the ramp could not properly fit a wheelchair with the weeds. The outdoor wooden patio tables had exposed nails and definitely needed to be updated for a safe, child friendly environment. The one good thing I will say that I enjoyed was the California burrito. It had more flavor to it and presented with good...
Read moreMy husband and I went to Garcia's to eat this evening with another couple. We all commented on the fact that we loved their sopaipillas but that they are usually out of them or the honey for them. We ate and then ordered four sopaipillas and I ask do you have sopaipillas, she said yes and I said do you have honey and she said yes. They brought us our four sopaipillas and 1 packet of honey. She said that was the last packet of honey. You've got to be kidding me. This has happened to us as well as several other people the last 6-8 times we have gone here. They need someone that knows how to run the place or they are going to lose a lot of business. They just lost ours. We'll go to El Chico next time. Rated 1 star because I hate they're always out of sopaipillas or honey. Sad because food is good and...
