This review is based on a take out order via grubhub. Please read at the end to explain my rating. My order consists of Kare Kare, Pansit Canton and Crispy Pata. I can definitely say that this restaurant is a true to its core Filipino food. They pride their food from the true identity of filipino foods and have met an authentic Filipino food definition and has no foreign twist or any fusion with other cultures. This is exactly the same as you would get if you were to buy them from the Philippines. The Kare-kare is as authentic as it gets except for the banana blossom but this is understandable since I have never seen the real version that is sold in the local grocery store, fresh or frozen, here in US and I have never found one in any Kare-Kare sold in the US. Other than this issue, it uses real peanut paste and has no added sugar into it compared to your usual home recipe that uses peanut butter. Came with reddish color from achuete along with well cooked meats, ox tails and vegetables. Meat is well cooked, tender and flavor is exactly as it should be. Also came with rice which was unexpected. 10/10. Crispy Pata is a bit ok. Picked it up on a covered Styrofoam box and probably was 40min post frying until it arrived home so my experience might be different if you eat them at the restaurant. Basically the skin is soggy and lost its “crispy” from its name. Other stores would keep them air dry after cooking and is stored in an open box or a box with big holes to prevent the grease from getting reabsorbed by the skin. Otherwise, the meat is perfectly spiced, soft and comes out of the meat easily. Would have been a perfect 10 if it wasn’t for the skin. Portion was big as expected for a $20+ price. Perfect with its included dipping sauce. 5/10 Pansit Canton was missing from my order. I called the store and they offer to replace them but I was not willing to drive 15 min and I requested for a refund. 20 minutes later no update on grubhub so I went to the app to request for refund. Missing main entrée on a pickup order is an automatic poor review as it breaks the meal experience. This experience was disappointing but bear in mind that your experience might be different if you do a dine-in. Ate here in the past but there is always something that makes it less satisfying and had forgot some entrees so this does not...
Read moreAs a frequent customer I'm disappointed to say that today (August 4, 2019) would be my last dining here.
Found a bottle cap in my milkfish sinigang. So I confronted the waitress (wearing a longish grey shirt and hand her hair up) and she did have any reaction. No immediate apology, no sense of remorse. She didn't even immediately bring it to the kitchen she brought it to a busser and kind of whispered something between them. From my boyfriends point of view (mind you he's sitting where he can see the kitchen staff) notices her confronting the staff and a kitchen worker kind of peering over to see who she was talking about. Shortly after she took the soup and still didn't apologize for what had happen. She only asked if we wanted a replacement or cancel the order. EXCUSE ME??? If there's a bottle cap in the soup I'm sure the whole thing should be thrown out! I don't want another order. She also didn't take the small bowl that I had made for myself. Which I set aside because of the bottle cap. I told her to cancel it and that was the last I heard of her. She only checked once on us once and there was still no sense of an apology coming any time soon. When it came to the check different waitress came by (medium black hair) and we heard her ask who might have been the shot caller (shorter male wearing all black, hat, and distinct eye color) said to only give us 10%. Wow. Just 10? Family and friends discount? After all the lousy treatment you just give us a taxed off meal? Honestly if they didn't even give us a discount we would have just walked out. So unprofessional of them and so disappointing.

Read moreI met up with my friend who just got here from Australia. She misses authentic Filipino food, and this is the closest one to the place where she stays. We didn't know that we parked at the back of the restaurant cause that's where the GPS pointed us. We went thru the back door, which looks like the front, too, except that the first thing you'll see is the bathroom, then go thru a hallway before reaching the main dining area. We arrived around 11:30 AM, and they're not that busy yet. No one assisted us immediately. Have to ask a server if we can sit anywhere and point us to a table. I noticed that the wait staff gives more attention to larger groups than those who, just like us, were just 2 or less. Most likely, because they're assuming a higher tip rate when it's a large group? Anyway, I hope those large groups gave them 20% or higher or added more if they have an automatic gratuity tip. About the food, we ordered karekare, crispy pata and lumpiang sariwa plus buko pandan for dessert. I would say they're good enough, but I would probably suggest changing their serving plates into a slightly bigger one because they're too small, that the food is spilling. There's 2 of us, and they gave us a single serving of rice on a small plate. By the time we're halfway our meal, the place is getting busier, so our server handed us a to go box, implying that we have to go soon. Good food, but bad customer service, especially if you're not a big group. There are so many other choices of Filipino restaurants to choose from with better hospitality. It's my first time trying this, and I will definitely...
