If you’re searching for birria near Southern Highlands, the beef kind (not goat), this is your spot.
The birria queso tacos sport a delightful juxtaposition of crispy and cheesy, with tender juicy beef doing its thing in the middle.
The salsa roja is pretty spicy, so it’s probably best to go easy on it. I liked mixing 2:1 verde to rojo to get the best of both heat and flavor.
There weren’t many (any?) options for building out their burrito besides chicken/beef, but Vito’s is a unique take on this American staple — which helps it stand out in Las Vegas’s underwhelming burrito scene. For me, it’s the magical crispiness to the shell that plays perfectly against the thick layer of melted cheese. But I fear its novelty is northi g kore than that. By halfway through, I found it to be a bit one note. Adding a dollop of pico, guac or crema would definitely help. Unfortunately, neither of which were available as options when I asked at the register. The green sauce saved it though, so maybe grab some extras if you can.
I see many reviews touting value, but coming from the Bay Area where taco trucks rule the land, $4/taco is a bit much. Yes, this is a hill I’m willing to die on. That said, these are some hefty tacos. At $13, the burrito comes in at the right price, but is ultimately lacking that extra something to captivate me, heck — even hold my attention — to the end.
In the end, I’ll probably be visiting mi amigos at Street Tacos down the street a bit more often, but it’s still nice to have Vito’s so close. Welcome to the...
Read moreHonestly, i have been missing out. Vito’s is across the street!! Tonight we decided we wanted tacos and Vito’s came up first on Google. Checked the menu & found great prices, great pictures, and great item ingredient descriptions! We chose to order online, which was very easy and even provides the option to add or remove ingredients (which is HUGE for me). We ordered 4 beef tacos, which came 2 sauces and limes. They were full of meat and very filling. We also ordered a combo meat burrito. Holy HEAVY! Also chips — the chips are PERFECT! The meat is just the right of juicy, the portions are big, the to-gos were packed nicely, the prices are extremely competitive, online ordering is easy, and the food is GREAT! The inside has a few tables to eat in at, appeared clean with a good vibe about it. I will ABSOLUTELY be going back as these were some of the best tacos, burritos and chips that we have had...
Read moreIf you're a taco, nacho or meat fan, this place is a must try.
One of my largest gripes with nachos at most places is running out of meat before running out of tortilla chips. That is not a concern here. There was about 1/2lb of meat on these and like some weird episode of Twilight Zone, we actually ran out of chips before meat.. which resulted in me just eating the meat by hand (don't judge me).
The queso tacos were no different. Great flavor and packed with meat and cheese. You will not be disappointed.
In a twist I didn't see coming, they also serve Ramen here, which I would really like to try as well.. if only I can resist not ordering nachos and...
