We done did it again! This time close to home. The Cornerstone is a very nice place in Erie to get a cold beverage and a good pub plate. They have plenty of televisions for the sports fans and anything else you may want to watch. We stopped in for a late dinner and to our surprise they weren't very busy for a Saturday evening. Parking can be a bit of a hassle but it's worth it. Service was great, beverages were cold and you know what we went there for..... The FOOD! Look, I like to eat good food. And I was skeptical at first when my plate arrived. To my surprise, it turned out pretty friggin good. We had the fried pickle chips for an app. I could eat a whole bucket of those twice! Go get you some! I ordered the grilled Chicken Bacon Ranch wrap. You can order it as a wrap or on a bun. It had really good flavor and was well portioned. The fries it came with hit the spot too! Kelly had the Grilled Shrimp Tacos on soft shells...I tried some! Well worth it. They season the shell with Sazon! How did I know it was Sazon? I know the flavor, didn't even have to ask. Like I never thought to do that until now. If you're in the Erie area and are looking for an exceptional place to stuff your face, take a drive over to 38th and Pine Ave.

Ordered 70 dollars worth of food, go pick up food and both of our smothered chicken meals were burnt and one of the ranch cups we got for our salads was USED! Came complete with somebody else's leftovers inside the ranch cup, can you say nasty. Tried to call about the order and nobody answered the phone and can't leave a voice-mail because the mailbox is full! The way this place is ran needs to be looked into especially with the fact that we got somebody else used ranch cup in our order and then can't get ahold of anyone that works there. Would have taken a picture of the ranch cup itself which was worse but my wife had already thrown it away.

The place is a traditional, bar like place with the atmosphere corresponding. The service was super good, the waitress was very attentive, helpful, and most of all welcoming. I ordered a pizza, and let me tell you it was HUGE! But not only that, it was so super yummy, I'd be a regular if I lived there. It was greasy, yes, but that's what I was expecting when I ordered one with pepperoni. The cheese on it was one of those that pull from the bottom, the crust crunchy, bottom thin (but not crispy thin), so it was everything I wanted in a perfect pizza. I highly recommend this place.

Do not recommend...I recently went to this bar with my sister who went to a college nearby. First, I was asked for a second form of ID when I didn’t look 25...So I gave him my dependent military ID. Again, didn’t question anyone else in my large party. Which was fine but strange. I had a great time until at the end when I wanted to close out my tab. I went up to the bartender who asked me three different times what my name was... to the point that I had to spell it out and I was fine doing so. Finally she came back and said I closed it out. I told her I specifically remember leaving it open as I remember my sister making a joke earlier. I told her that I did and doubled checked in my wallet for my credit card. It wasn’t there. She was very rude and had an attitude. She said I closed it out so much so that a manager (I’m assuming) came and said I closed it out and that I signed for it. I asked to see my signature. The next thing I see is the that HE comes with my card they magically find with the receipt that they said I already signed. There was no apology for the mistake instead the bartender told me that she didn’t need my dollar tip and to kick me out when all I wanted was my credit card. I asked to speak with the owner who later defended this kind of behavior. In all my 25 years, never have I been treated this poorly in an establishment. I will not be returning to give them my business. I’m very discouraged that this kind of behavior is acceptable in a place like this. I don’t want to be in a place that has such a negative way towards there customers (which is the only reason why they have a job). Again, I hate leaving such a negative review but I am disgusted by this...

stopped in around 3:45; place was nearly empty besides some folks at the bar. we ordered a few appetizers and 2 kids' meals. took nearly 40 minutes for the food to come out and we were not checked on nor were we apologized to. while sitting there, a large unexpected party came in and all attention was on them. i understand it was overwhelming, but just because a large party comes in does not mean you ignore your other tables. i ordered a quesadilla, which the server had verified with me was a cheese quesadilla, but when it came out it had chicken in it and it was burnt. i was never given the opportunity to let the server know because she never came back to check on us. we were unhappy at this point and just wanted the check so we could leave. we could tell we were not going to be acknowledged so we approached the bar for our check and the bartender gave us a snarky response about asking our server for it. when the server finally brought us the check, she looked right at my uneaten food and didnt say a word and again didnt apologize, just silently set the check down. we had our card out ready to pay for at least 5 minutes but ultimately left cash on the table and walked out because our server continued to walk by and ignore us. worst customer service i've had in a long time—there's a huge difference between being busy/overwhelmed and being rude. i'm never one to complain but this was ridiculous, considering we ordered well before the large party came in. didn't appreciate the rudeness from the bartender either but i've seen that from her many times during...

After a long day of work, I didn’t have it in me to cook so we decided to order Cornerstone for takeout. The food is always great, always fresh, plus it’s local and less than 5 minutes away. Ordered food for my son and I, picked it up, came home to discover a slight mistake with my son’s food. He’s a teenage boy so he inhaled it regardless. I open my food to discover it’s also wrong. At this point I’m hangry and disappointed, so I call the restaurant to let them know. A pleasant woman answers and I explain the problem. She asks me to hold and in less than 1 minute, a man comes on the line, says his name is Greg and asks me about my meal. I explain the problem and I’m left speechless by his response. Greg (who I later learned was the owner) begins by apologizing profusely and takes accountability for the kitchen oversights. He asks me how Cornerstone can make it better, asks me what I would like him to do and OFFERS to remake the botched items and deliver them.

This is the definition of exemplary customer service. Not only bc they remade the food and delivered it to me (which I appreciate in more ways than I can even articulate tonight). But because the owner cared, about me and my family as people first, customers second. He didn’t just see me as a transaction, Order# 109; Greg embodied the meaning of community and wanted to make sure we were taken care of, that we had food.

Thank you Cornerstone. Thank you Greg. You’ll always have my business and my...
