Accessibility: there is one accessible/handicap parking spot in front of the building and the ground to get from the parking lot into the building is all flat ground. The front entrance is a pull door but it was propped open when I came which is nice! No lights in the parking lot around sunset time...maybe some come on later but not when I came so it was dark in the lot. There is seating inside and outside with moveable chairs and they have a single men's and single women's bathroom inside the restaurant (back right corner). Experience: upon walking in, it's really big and spacious which is nice to have space from other people, and the staff are super nice and welcoming. I got a free burrito because of this yelp event but I also ordered and paid for a separate meal (a quesadilla). The food was a 4/5 on taste I would say from all the places I've tried in North County. The horchata and bottled drinks tasted great! The horchata really tasted like it came from Mexico; it had a really good taste that no other place in North County has. Yum! Next time I will definitely try the Elote itself! Price: 11 dollars for one quesadilla, 4 dollars for a glass bottled drink and 2 dollars I think for horchata. They are dog friendly and they have veggie options with tofu on the menu!

Hidden gem in Escondido! When I walked in the first thing I saw was Banksy-style art on the walls, which didn't fit what I expected at all. Neither did the food, as I guess I was expecting another 'Bertos style burrito place. Instead, it was much different in a good way! There is corn on the cob, corn in a cup, tacos, burritos, bowls, and carne, pollo, or carnitas. And the smothered baked potato is amazing! The ingredients are all fresh, and prepared right there by hand. I've been back more than a few times, and am still very impressed with the work they put into making everything fresh The business is owned and operated by a local family, and their efforts to make a good product are obvious. Give it a try, and enjoy!

Large portions!! They are very generous with proteins, toppings, and sauces. Elote was delicious. I ordered the Elote Bowl with Carne Asada. My partner ordered the Elote Quesadilla with Adobada. That was the thickest quesadilla I’ve ever seen and my bowl was fully loaded. The dining room had some cool art work. Folding table and chairs. Good for the food trucks I saw they have out back on the weekends. A little cold so dress warm during this time of year! We found a game of Candy Land on the shelf so we enjoyed playing a few rounds of that while eating - it was a good time! We might come hang out with a game of our own next time!

Overpriced, under delivers, but good quality? Maybe only come here for corn if you're desperate.

Escondido has no shortages of "quick" mexican food but very few serve elote/esquites.

Got esquites and "carne asada fries" here for lunch and paid for the upcharge to add guacamole. Guacamole is included at every place in Escondido that I can think of so it was weird to be upcharged so much for it but what made it even worse was they didn't even put in the fries or on the side.

The other issue was the serving size of their carne asada fries is about HALF of what the competitors are (like there's two other mexican restaurants within 250ft that serve more for less and get the order right). So you're paying more to get less and they don't value the customer enough to pay attention to the orders.

To be fair the quality was good and the ingredients seemed fresh and when I called to enquire about why I didn't get the guac I paid for they offered to doordash a side to me or "figure out a way to maybe refund the upcharge" but that's just more hassle than it's worth when the amount they are charging for the small servings should dictate they pay better attention to what they're doing.

The equites was good but of course cost more than what you pay from local street vendors but the advantage here is you know where elote is and you don't have to go searching for your favorite street vendor.

Bottom line: If you want elote or esquite and don't have time to find a street vendor go here but if you want fast mexican "comfort food" just visit any one of the other three dozen fantastic places we have...

Honestly I’m surprised by how bad this place is considering all the great reviews. Went by there today and ordered myself a drink and a taco. Starting off they were out of guac and several other minor things. The place was empty during lunch hours and somehow it was still a bit dirty but tolerable. The taco I ordered I expected a full size for what I was charged but instead it was a mini, highly disappointing. It tasted alright but not seasoned well. Followed by the horchata which tasted like its been sitting outside for a very long time. Then redemption time came so I ordered an esquite and it was the WORST esquite I’ve had in a long time. The corn was old, soggy, and cold. When I asked the cashier to warm it up she apologized and said she couldn’t and I asked what about a microwave and she mentioned that they didn’t have one, do I have to mention that I paid $9 for a small cup! Everything is overpriced and I can’t even call it mediocre. Highly...
