Been here a couple times. First time, got a chamango and it was good.
Came back here recently going to get a fruit smoothie but I must've gotten there too early (?) because they hadn't finished chopping up all the fresh fruit. It was a hot day and was going to be a hot weekend so I bought paletas (buy 10, get 1 free. I think they're regularly $2 each). These are SO GOOD! Fresh fruit inside. They have a case of paletas with milk and a case with no milk. To avoid any lactose intolerant issues, I bought all non-milk ones. My whole family loved them. And I'd rather the kids eat these than the mostly sugar popsicles from the store.
My only criticisms are 1. they should turn their menu monitors on when they open so customers know their options and prices and 2. have employees come in earlier to chop fruits so they're ready for when customers come in. I'm pretty sure I came in past 10:30am and they supposedly open at 9am .
I'm not going to lower my rating because of these two things because I have enjoyed everything I've purchased here and the girl who served me that last time was very nice, accommodating (she was able to bag my paletas with ice so they wouldn't melt on my way home), and patient with me while I...
Read moreI am so happy they opened a location in Escondido. Its a great treat for the kids. They love the popsicles and I love that its only $2 and loaded with fruit. They have so many unique flavors you cannot get at a Baskin or Coldstones. It may be inimidating to see so many flavors but I just tried the new flavors I never heard of and they were so nice to explain them to me. They even listed all their popsicle flavors for me. So nice. My favorites are the Ice cream and Popsicles. They have a huge sitting area and bathrooms. This is our favorite stop for a treat. They have a flavor to satisfy any craving.
2019 update: Their Cafe Nieve(coffee ice cream) is just like the texture of the cream Ice from Ralph's Ices in NY. Its $2.30 for one scoop. I can only vouch for that one flavor because that was my go to flavor at Ralph's Ice and at Michoacana.
My Kids love the Esquimal with are $2.80 each, it's a popsicle but has a chocolate coating that is dipped in coconut or sprinkles. Popsicles are still $2/each. This is still out go to spot for dessert going on 2 years even though we moved further East we...
Read moreFirst thing to note, I ordered a cookies and cream ice cream. Unlike other places I’ve been, instead of actual cookies, it seemed like they used a cake mixture. I absolutely LOVED it. It was delicious! However, I can’t say the same for the person who helped me. I believed that she had some friends that popped by and ordered from the place. That’s all fine and good, but when one of the friends addressed that there were people waiting, rather than acknowledge, she kinda just blew it off? She kept on talking to her friends. I’m not one to write negative reviews, but this really left a bad impression to me. She had reddish, brown hair and was wearing a black hoodie or shirt, from the best of my memory. I didn’t get her name. I don’t expect service from an ice cream shop as I would from a restaurant, but some common courtesy gets you far. I hope this doesn’t continue, because the ice cream was good, but the way that I was ignored makes me not want to...
