I wish I could leave .5 stars, my review would be a 4.5 instead of a 5. I also want to say my review is based upon being there at one of the busiest known times. I visited TJ Tacos on Sunday, 7/14/2019 around 6PM. I read the reviews and knew there would be a wait, but to me that wasn't an issue, that meant the food must be fantastic! When I arrived there was a pretty long line, I waited all in all about 30 minutes to get my food (more on that later), however this was a fun experience because I spoke with a lot of locals and tried to chat with as many people as I could because I don't live in this area. Everyone was super friendly and it was nice seeing the food cooked in front of you. I went with two asada tacos and one adobada tacos, in reality I wish I would have purchased a few more adobada tacos after having the one. I also purchased a cheese quesadilla and drink. The pricing was very reasonable for the amount of food you were given. Seating was difficult to find, but given I was one person I did snag a table outside, if you are a large group it might be difficult to sit at one table together during busy times. I loved the spicy avocado sauce, it was so delicious. The food was amazing and the tacos were excellent. The homemade, in house, tortillas were so good, I loved watching the lady make them while I waited. I would highly recommend going here to experience the atmosphere and splendid food! Now my only negative, was the line queuing. For instance, they have two separate lines for Asada and Adobada tacos, which isnt a big deal, except it was extremely busy. I waiting in the adobada line then had to wait in line again for asada tacos. I think during busy times, there should be a combo line for those looking to get both. Other than that, I had a great experience here.

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. I ordered the carne asada burrito, took one bite, and threw it away. It was that bad. The entire thing was insanely spicy – not in a good way, but in a way that completely ruined the flavor. I couldn’t taste anything except burning heat. There were no warnings or any kind of English instructions to let me know what I was getting into. The carne asada was dry and tough, and the spice just overwhelmed everything. Honestly, it tasted like they dumped a bunch of hot sauce in it without thinking about balance or flavor. The lack of English on the menu made things even worse. I had no idea what I was ordering because nothing was clearly labeled. When I tried to ask the staff, they couldn’t explain much in English, so I just pointed and hoped for the best – and clearly, it didn’t turn out well. I don’t understand how this place has positive reviews. Maybe I just got unlucky, but I’m not willing to give it another shot. I literally took one bite and couldn’t handle any more. It felt like a total waste of money. If I could rate this 0 stars, I would. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else.

Chose this place for its high star. Son and I came in before 12n on a Thursday, I expected crowd. The line is ineffective if you are getting multiple meat type. One line for each of these (adobada, asada, lengua & buche, burrito). I stood up in the burrito line for like good 8 mins without anyone acknowledging me, even the cashier lady asked if anybody has helped me yet. She checked in the back and they were prioritizing the drive-thru orders. Then, you'll bring your tray to pay for food and drinks. I had to ask for salsa, as they are kept in the cooler. This is not offered as default, the cashier gave two salsas (one red, one green), for 3 tacos and giant burrito that was all given, had to ask for more and was stingly given another 2 little containers. I gave 15% tip regardless. I expected flavorful meat but it came as bland even with salsas red and green combined or adding the grilled onions or chilli. Truthfully, I am not pleased with this place taste-wise go somewhere else, not worth the hype.

I had a craving for tacos and I wanted chicken tacos when I came in to try this place. But they did not have that. They didn’t have fish either. Only beef or pork. I don’t understand why any place like this would limit your choice especially if you do not eat beef much. My fiancé and I were really hungry so we decided to stay and eat. I was so disappointed. We ordered the Steak tacos and the steak was very chewy and very mediocre. I also asked the girl who worked at the register if they had anything else? She said I could get the Nopal. I did not know what Nopal was? And she said it was onions, cilantro, and guacamole. So I thought that was called Nopal. Obviously I’m not Mexican… lol… I found out Nopal was peppers. And they had absolutely no taste at all. I told her I misunderstood and did not like it. I wanted to get a quesadilla instead. But she gave me a hard time and acted like she explained it to me and really did not want to ask the manager. I can’t believe anyone would give you a hard time over $3.25! So we just paid for the quesadilla. My cheese quesadilla was so tiny! I could throw cheese on a corn tortilla at home for a few cents! Even Taco Bell gives you a bigger cheese quesadilla for next to nothing! We will not be going back to this place ever again which charged $25,00 for 4 tiny tacos, 1 tiny quesadilla, and 2 small drinks! I can make what I can make that at home for $10!!! I do not...

Went in throu dive thru. I ordered a California burrito no pico no guac. I paid $11.95. I got to work and noticed tomatoes cilantro and onions. MAIN ingredients for pico!!! I went back to the store and let them know I asked for no pico. Girl in the drive thru said it doesn't have pico. I let her know I am seeing tomatoes onions and cilantro she wpuld cut me off before finishing and said said no there isnt any tomatoes. I then proceeded to the window I showed her the burrito clearly showing the tomatoe she was still being rude and said that it has salsa Fresca. (Salsa Fresca is pico). She gave me attitude and gave me another burrito. When I arrived at work I noticed it was not a California burrito. There was only meat. I called the store and another girl answered she was understanding and she got my name and said if I could go again to the store. Mind you this is my 3rd trip from work back. I walked inside this time and got the correct order finally. I give this place a 2 star only because of customer service was poorly executed. I was not looking for anything free I just wanted the order I was paying for. Unfortunately there are many surrounding Mexican restaurants around and made my decision of not returning again to be treated...
