It pains me to write this as I've visited many times and enjoyed the food and service. However, my last visit was so extremely bad it bears reporting. It started ok. We were seated, got our drinks and placed our order. It went downhill from there. We waited a long time with no attention from our server. Meanwhile, she was waiting on other tables and bringing meals to people who came in after us. It became clear she had forgotten us. My dinner companion got her attention and she finally brought our food. The food temperature was cool, the sauce was seizing and becoming solid, and she got our orders wrong. We called it to her attention, she sort of addressed it, then she never came back to our table. She appeared to be going to her other tables, but not once did she check to see if everything was okay, did we need drink refills or want dessert. She ignored us. Finally, I went up front to express my disappointment with both food and service. The guy at the front of the house was dismissive, rude, and unprofessional. No apologies. I have family who have worked in restaurants. I have a reputation for being polite, appreciative and a generous tipper. Restaurants that know me are always happy to see me. I understand it can be a hard job. But, it's unacceptable to be so rude to a customer and raise your voice, especially when your customer is calmly and quietly trying to explain the multitude of reasons the experience was an epic fail. He didn't want or care to hear it. He just wanted me to leave. Luckily, the meal was comped, which it should have been as the experience was terrible. I'm so sad to say I am no longer comfortable being a patron of this establishment. I used to love going there, but no longer. I was made to feel unwelcome and no longer valued as a customer who visited semi-regularly. It's unfortunate for Mimmos as I've brought numerous friends and family there. I won't any longer and will discourage people from going there. I have never been treated so poorly at any restaurant. Hopefully, they'll work on training staff on how to provide...
Read moreIf I could have given them a zero I would have. We waited about 10-15 minutes for a table on Saturday night. Not bad, right?! Well, we proceeded to wait at least another 45 minutes as we watched table after table be waited on, served (drinks, food, dessert), even tables leave and new people be assigned. No one ever came over to us to even get our drink order. When I finally had enough, mind you I was sitting with a hungry 9 year old and an infant in the aisle, I asked to speak with the manger. Liw and behold the very waiter that was supposed to be serving us was the manager on duty. To add insult to injury he apologized (for missing over us and was ready to take our order now) but little did he know I had been watching his every move in the front windows and it felt as though he went to come to us a few times and then turned around and went to other tables. He noted no one ever told him we were there. How could you miss us? The four tables around us had been cleared and I had an infant in a high chair in the aisle that you had to go around?! The tables around us even noticed we hadn't been waited on. When I told him I was dissatisfied he offer a small percentage off the bill. That was not going to fix this! Maybe, just maybe, ud have considered a free meal (to go) by this point. I told him it was OK, we were leaving now. He seemed OK with that and said to have a good weekend. Seriously! We used to like this place, but after this, I will never go back and will surely let everyon we know how the "Manager" even treats customers. I'm sure the owner would not be...
Read moreThe last time I placed an order at Mimmo's I had high hopes. Our first pizza was great, I was pretty shocked honestly as pizza in Vermont is usually pretty awful. The second pizza I had ordered was a slight let down, pretty par for VT pizza. The last and third one ordered I was hoping for redemption. Alas, it did not come. I called the order in two hours early and arrived on time. The pizza wasn't ready the waitress said and told me it would be a few minutes. I waited. 15 minutes to be exact, beyond my pickup time. I was told about three times the pizza "wasn't quite ready yet." Until it was finally brought out. I got home to open a floppy, pale, uncooked pizza. Pretty much just cooked enough to get off the peel. So I called Mimmo's back to let them know. The girl I spoke to listened to my issue, and informed me that "while I (she) tend to like my pizza crispy I can tell you that Italian pizza is more uncooked." So basically I was wrong, and I don't know how pizza should be. Ok. Great. No apology either mind you. She told me she would put a credit on my order for the next time. Perfect. The next time came. I was informed that I had a $3 credit to my account. Sweet so I had been given back three dollars for buying a raw pizza. Please...
