Few years later edit:
I've recently given the local dominos another chance. Have ordered multiple things, carryout and delivery, and have not had any issues. Massive improvement over my first experience. It's now a coin toss as to which establishment I choose to visit.
I'm choosing to ignore the insincere sounding, adword-ridden coupon response to my complaint a year after it was made. Replying to a (formerly) 1-star review with what amounts to a commercial jingle is incredibly tone-deaf.
Three strikes: you're out.
1st order: Carryout pizza. Arrived on time to pick it up, only to discover that a delivery driver grabbed my pizza by mistake and left with it. They remade my order and refunded the entire cost, so I didn't hold it against them.
2nd order: Delivery, pizza and cheese sticks. Delivered on time, but the driver didn't come to the correct door (which I specified on the ticket notes). Pizza was cold. Ordered the jalapeno bacon cheese sticks with light jalapenos -- they put extra. Had about 2 'side' servings (1/4 to 1/3 cup) of jalapenos inside the sticks that I plucked out.
3rd order: Delivery, pizza and wings. Picture of the pizza is attached -- I think it largely speaks for itself. Dough was not cooked all the way, bubbles everywhere, messy toppings, poor cheese covering, and the sauce tasted off (got marinara sauce instead of the default 'robust tomato'). The wings were properly cooked, just not very good.
Not planning on ordering here again. That's too bad, as the only nearby competition (Little Caesars) isn't anything to write home about either. Guess the only viable alternative is frozen pizzas.
EDIT: I have since ordered multiple custom pizzas at Little Caesars and they have all been above average. Stay away from the $5 hot and ready pizzas and the breadsticks and...
Read moreI will NEVER place another order here. I ordered using the mobile site. We arrived and sat in the drive thru waiting for someone to come to the window. So long, a person behind us in line pulled around to the front and got their order and left all before someone finally came to the window. We got our food, after leaving I answered the satisfaction questionnaire at end of page on mobile site. I gave one star for the timing/customer service issues. My phone then starts ringing. I don’t recognize the number so I ignored it. They call back. I answer and it’s a guy from dominos claiming to be the manager. Said his name was Ed. He then said they “left a note under my name” and to find somewhere else to order my food. Then hung up on me. I’m guessing that was some sort of threat to tamper with my food if I did. I called back and asked to speak to the manager. The same guy got on the phone and pretended it wasn’t him that just called me. I told him I would be calling corporate to report the unprofessional behavior. He then called me back AGAIN and started calling me a B**ch, telling me he was the owner and I better never order food there again. I am shaking and appalled by the behavior of this man. I will continue reaching out until something is done about this. I have the call log to show where he has called me three times already. I will never spend another dollar here. Not only would I never recommend this place, I will inform everyone of this experience from now on. This man is seriously nuts calling customers after they have done left the store and cussing them out and threatening me if I ever order...
Read moreIt's always something either the quality of the food is horrible or the service is. Unfortunately there isn't any other place that delivers around here.
Edit after reply: in the past 8 months since my first review, we've probably given Dominos 1 or 2 chances a week to improve their rating. I can honestly say we have only had one awesome (5/5 star) meal from there since this review. A lot of mediocre ones, many bad ones, but only one that to me was great. We also order from the Athens and Madisonville branches, service and quality are almost always 5/5 star or better. In Etowah it sits in quality check for 20 minutes after its cooked and they bring you cold pizza, or the pizza is messed up (ask for well done and the pepperoni is still raw, the crust bubbles jacked up one side of the pie, almost no cheese, etc...) Dominos has good pizza! This is a location issue and not a franchise issue. You need people who care more about the quality of the food and getting the product out before it gets cold. If there was any other place that delivered in Etowah (Little Caesars is about to start delivery) we would probably never order from this...
