-Called ahead to check on the wait, was told our table of 2 would only be 5 min max. We were a block away. Arrived and walked to restaurant which is down a boat dock and when inside the host said it would be a 20 min wait and when we said we had just called she reluctantly sat us. The wait staff was inattentive and never once asked if we needed refills or if our food was good or even correct. It wasn't until the kitchen manager came and asked how it was and cleared our plates that we as kindly and quietly as we could told him of our experience and how we had hoped for better. He was apologetic but did make excuses why the 'loaded' baked potato was served that way. -While waiting for a host to come seat us, I checked the salad bar and it was a disaster and many of the items were cross contaminated and low enough to see the bottom of the containers. This lead me to order a fresh salad. -Specifically asked if the mushrooms were hand breaded and they brought out frozen fried mushrooms. I had asked twice. -Loaded baked potato was small and deconstructed, promised pepper Jack or American and was brought kraft shredded Colby. Potato had no flavor, no butter and seemed rewarmed. -Asked kindly for no cheese on salad and it was covered in feta which is great if I could have dairy. Inquired that it did for sure come with a lemon vinaigrette and was assured it did. It was brought out with a lemon cream sauce with a similar consistency of sour cream. The salmon was frozen and thawed and over-baked then quickly seared to give it grill marks. It was no more than the length of my palm but the width of half my palm. -We waited a month to try it in hopes that it would be a nice fresh menu and all the kinks worked out. We were sorely mistaken. I do hope it improves. We need more upscale...
Read moreHow to sum up our 3rd visit? Don't bother, go elsewhere.
This was our third time trying this restaurant and it will be the last. We came during the first week opened, it had flaws we assumed needed worked out such as slow service (even though there was less than 10 tops filled) and over cooked bland steaks. The 2nd visit was rounded up to be the same, but this time with an appetizer that was just a basic mozzarella sticks you can get anywhere. This was a month later, but had learned our server was new and training. So we decided to give it more time. Our 3rd and final try well.... Steak was bland with zero flavor, not even the char marks has a taste. It was a poor cut of meat possible to have been cut wrong, it was gummy even though it was cooked medium. Our server was bothered to have a table it felt, we didn't get a single refill on drinks. Asked for to go containers and never got those. The server made sure to get 1 order right but brushed off the other. The confusing part is that they had a 10-15 minute wait for the cooks to catch up (again not busy just a usual weekend for this area that a experienced staff should be more than capable of handling, see Captain Johns or Dobbers for example of smooth handling) they would seat some tables but skip some, which confuses people. Don't seat them if you can't serve them. We watched a few get flustered over this and not understand, the staff all seemed to not know how to communicate with each other over this. The owner, host, and servers lost track of everything it...
Read moreThe women that worked were nice and friendly but the waiter his name is Joe was very rude and unpleasant to have him wait on our table. My husband ordered a big margarita and it came out in a small glass and he said that was the biggest they had. He was training a new waitress when he brought our food to the table and my husband and I thought he was very rude to his trainee. Joe told us to cut into our steak because if it was not the way we wanted it he would not be back to fire it up. Not once did he ask if everything tasted ok. When time came to pay the bill there was a charge for an unsweet tea on it and when I pointed it out he said but you ordered a tea yes I ordered a tea but we never received the unsweet tea. This place is overpriced and the food is not good. I never eat steak sauce on my steak but I sure did tonight. My husband has them add some onions and cheese to his salad and a small pinch was a 1 for each thing. My baked potato was even small. We both had the 16 oz ribeye with the sides and walked out still hungry. You can go to the VFW on Friday night for their steak and it tastes a lot better and you actually get full and it's a lot cheaper. Some nights you might have to wait awhile but still worth the money. Captain John's is also a lot better and more filling than this place and a little cheaper. So if you want a bad waiver named Joe and food that is overpriced and not very good this is your place but I myself will take my business somewhere else where the...
