Holy Cow, the essences that flavor this food are so darn incredible! I don't EVER eat dark meat Chicken, but the scents wafting out of the kitchen & from each plate making it's excursion from the kitchen to the other patron's tables in the restaurant, caused me to order a side of bbq Lemongrass Chicken to go with my Pineapple fried Rice. I kid you not, I hate dark meat Chicken, but this Chicken here, has allowed me to love it. The Lemongrass flavor was permeated all the way through the meat & made my tastebuds jump for joy! Tart, sweet, tangy, sour, refreshing & flavorful. The Pineapple fried rice was super good too & had large chunks of pineapple, along with lots of veggies & egg! Cute little place, bustling with tons of patrons, who obviously have previously discovered the greatness going on here! The menu is extensive, but I forgot to take photos of the menu. There were 8 of us in our meetup group & Angkor Cafe had NO issue serving our group, getting all our food out timely or splitting our check. One person got Pumpkin Curry, she said it was better than the one she ate in Cambodia. One person got Phnom Penh Noodle Soup & said it was delicious & the portion was so big she took the rest home for another dinner. One person ordered Lemongrass Beef & another person ordered Lemongrass Chicken & both raved about the flavor being so good & aromatic. One person got Cha Yakisoba & she was thrilled about the flavor of the Yakisoba sauce. She was very impressed & this was her first time ever having Yakisoba. One person got Mi-Sor Seafood Salad & enjoyed every bit to the point she had none to take home. One member of had the Cambodian Curry & said it was perfect, but he'll order it with a 4 on the "hot" scale next time, as he did want it just a tad spicier. I took home over half of my Pineapple fried Rice & my BBQ Lemongrass Chicken & can't wait to reheat it all up tomorrow. I am excited to go back with my family & introduce them to this wonderful...
Read moreI was surprised at the experience I had here after my roommate raved about the place. I ate here with two other people. They both ordered Pho and I ordered the Cha Yakisoba. The place had maybe 3 or 4 tables of people there when we arrived, half of which had their food already.
My Yakisoba took slightly longer than average to come to the table. That's fine, we were in no hurry. I waited patiently before eating for my girlfriend to receive her soup. 5 minutes. 10 minutes, my Yakisoba still sitting there, getting cold while the rest of my table has no food. I go up and ask about the 2 soups we're missing and the cashier looks back for a half a second in the general direction of the kitchen and tells me it's coming right now. 5 more minutes go by and finally our soups are coming, my Yakisoba long cold by now. No explanation, no apology.
Half way through our meal, the cook comes over and asks how our meal is. My girlfriend tells her that it came out far too late after the first dish hit the table and that it's unacceptable. The cook begins to make unapologetic excuses about the kitchen and even insinuates that it's just us that needs to be patient. It was unbelievable.
The food was below average. My Yakisoba was bland and barely had any chicken in it, mostly just plain noodles. The portion size was small. My appetite wasn't even satisfied after this meal, it looked like a kid size meal. The Pho was better than the Yakisoba, but the noodles were overcooked and mushy, not good. We left feeling cheated and insulted by the staff.

Read moreExceptional menu with a wide variety of flavors . Freshly prepared dishes and quality ingredients equals great foods.Beginning with vegetarian spring rolls with a tasty dipping sauce unbelievable the crispy crunch of the outer fried wrap in contrast to the perfectly cooked veggies on the inside makes this a welcome appetizer . To start out with order a mango coconut bubble tea served just right .The curry soup is one of the best soups I've had in my entire life .Mind you I've been around the world and have had my share of soups homemade to restaurant supplied and prepared. The flavors are balanced very well with plenty of meat in ratio to the bamboo shoots ,potato, sprouts ,carrots and much more included in this amazing well portioned soup.Coconut milk broth lays the perfect base for the soup noodles are freshly made. If you are still hungry then go for the Pad Thai another fine example of excellent cooking .We here in Eugene Oregon feel fortunate to have in our city a simple low key accessable clean restaurant with great prices, wonderful and friendly staff most of all incredibly delicious food .I recommend Angkor restaurant definitely for a good dining experience.
