My husband and I enjoy supporting local restaurants and have been to the Chambers Grill and Taphouse a few time now since opening (knowing we have always had great experiences at the Barger location). However, each time we have been to this location it has gotten progressively worse with their slow service even though the restaurant is half full. Friday we went in to grab a bite to eat and a quick drink before heading to a highschool sporting event. It was a little after 5pm, half the tables were empty on the restaurant side. We grabbed a menu and sat down waiting for a server. After 10min of being there and no one coming my husband went up and ordered at the bar, which they acted a bit annoyed and like it was an inconvenience since they would have to serve us on the restaurant side and how busy they were. He came back to the table and at this point a younger girl who was our server came and asked if we needed anything. We informed her that we already ordered at the bar since no one came and offered to move to the bar side if that was more convenient. She assured us it was fine to stay where we were and asked if we would like anything. My husband asked for a water. Time went by, no water and finally his meal came. Again the server asked if there was anything else she could get us, he again asked if he could have a water please since he never got one. More time passed, he finished his meal, no one came back and still no water. We left our payment with a tip on the table and left. At this point the server came chasing after us in the parking lot and told us we needed to come back and pay for our food with an attitude. We told her we did and she got upset telling us we didn’t. We then told her we left the payment on the table and that the customer service was terrible. She then responded, “you’re terrible customers” and went back inside. We left and questioned what we did wrong!? I felt it was only right to speak with a manager at this point and called into the restaurant. That same server answered the phone, I asked to speak with a manager and she informed me there was not a manager there and asked if this was the couple that just left. She said that they got our payment and we were no longer welcome back (perhaps this is why they have half the tables empty so often). I then informed her not to worry about that, we have no plans to come back after that terrible customer service and the fact that they couldn’t even bring water to the table the whole time we were there. The next day I called into the restaurant around 10:30am and asked to speak with their manager, who answered the phone. After explaining what happened she said she was the only one there working and super busy, asked for my contact information and said she would call me back in a half hour when a bartender got there to discuss what had happened further, acting concerned. She never called back and this further confirms the terrible customer service that this...
Read moreThis is is a local pub for me and I had high expectations. After a dozen dining experiences I find it very hit/miss. A lot of that has to do with staff. Food is reliable and average pub grub. Recently (3/04/20), after ordering a beer (draft) and commenting that it was flat I was mocked as a fool. After which, lthey reluctantly gave me another. Then, as I was checking out I notified the woman bartender that I was overcharged. She, knowing that I was right, corrected the bill but gave off huge attitude while doing it. That, plus a snarky comment confirmed for me that I will never go back despite it's convenient location. I found Dusty, who was working that night to be quite kind and reasonable. The short woman with a ponytail, however, is decidedly, unfriendly. I eat out every day and have for years. I will...
Read moreThis place is a hard hit and miss. The food is surprisingly edible, the area spacious, employees are very pleasant, and the TVs aren’t all on the same channel (shout out to the Bob Ross TV).
On the other hand the place always reeks of cigarette smoke as if someone had just lit up right next to me. I’m an ex smoker so I won’t complain if I’m choosing to be around smoking in a social setting. But I can’t figure out why I have to breath in second hand smoke while inside of a business. It’s a major turn off for me and makes me second guess if I really want to hang out here. I live a couple blocks away so it should be my local dive, but I might as well hang somewhere else that doesn’t reek of tobacco smoke...
