Rude staff, no manager, and no refunds allowed for any reason. It's like Lord of the Flies at this place both figuratively and literally.
I've been eating at this establishment for about 10 years now. I have always appreciated their quality and reasonable prices. A recent experience at their restaurant has changed my perspective.
The drive-thru was backed up to the street and there was a parking spot so I decided to order inside. When I got inside there was a line to the door and the place was buzzing with flies. There were 5 people in front of me and it took about 30 minutes for me to get to the counter. I was being harassed by flies the entire time I waited.
I made my order: a shrimp burrito with guacamole and a bottle of sprite. With the included tip I paid over $15. The cashier told me it would be about 10 minutes so I sat down to wait. After about 20 minutes I noticed that people were coming in, ordering, and getting their food almost right away. People who I watched walk in after me and order were leaving with their food. I approached the cashier to inquire about my order.
I stood at the counter for 10 minutes while the cashier took orders and ignored me. I think she thought that I was a food delivery driver. After 10 minutes someone walked up and told her that they got the wrong burrito. The cashier asked who ordered the shrimp burrito and I raised my hand. The cashier looked annoyed.
At this point I had been waiting for over an hour. I told the cashier that I would just like to refund my order and be on my way. I have been dissatisfied with service at other fast food places in the past and they have always refunded my order, especially in cases where I didn't receive my food.
The cashier did not acknowledge the mistake. She did not apologize. She told me that there are no refunds and asked if I wanted the burrito. I declined. I later found out that she was not being honest: Burrito Boy does allow refunds but needs a manager's approval. It's just not possible when there ARE NO MANAGERS AT ANY OF THE STORES.
I asked to speak to a manager and the employee said that there wasn't a manager; that I would need to email corporate with my complaint but SHE DIDNT KNOW THE EMAIL.
Customer service and sanitation has apparently taken a back seat to profits. I will not be...
Read moreI gave this Burrito Boy location on Chambers at 18th 1 star because that was the lowest rating available. I went in yesterday afternoon to order 2 Carnitas burritos to go. 1 with everything but sour cream and 1, for me, with NO beans, lettuce or tomatoes. I sat down to eat a couple hours later. I took a bite. NOTHING BUT BEANS. I took a 2nd bite. A LITTLE BIT OF RICE AND ANOTHER MOUTHFUL OF BEANS. I opened up the burrito and found a little bit of rice a little bit of carnitas, no sour cream and a LIFETIME SUPPLY OF BEANS. I threw it in the trash and had a bowl of cereal for dinner. I called this Burrito Boy a few minutes ago and asked for the manager. I was told there is NO manager just employees on all shifts. The employee I spoke to had never met, or even talked to, the owner. I was told to call back after 5PM when the employees from yesterday would be on duty again. Apparently, all the employees at this location have NO AUTHORITY to deal with any type of problem. I will never go to this Burrito Boy location again and I would advise everyone else to go to a different...
Read moreThis is the only one open on Sundays. We were in the drive thru for over half an hour. We were at the speaker for over 25 minutes. No one spoke to us for about 10 minutes, until we asked if we could order or if the speaker is broken? A woman doesn't exactly talk to us, and says, "OK. Let me do it this way." Then about 2 minutes later asks if we could wait to order. We said no problem and waited another 15 minutes at the speaker. We asked again if we could order and no one answered. We saw the car in front of us, at the window getting their food handed to them, so we pulled up to the window to order. 3 people stared at us and walked past the window. They were helping all the people who got out of the drive thru to walk inside, first. So we left and ate somewhere else. This isn't hard to do. People who walk inside, are helped last, they aren't going anywhere. People in drive thru are helped first, due to time management. They have no customer service or time management skills. It's help 2 in drive thru, help one in your...
