I've been wanting to post this for a couple months and it's really been weighing heavy on me. My family were temporarily without a home on Christmas, and went to Wonder Wok on Christmas night. It was going to be our Christmas dinner. The entire waiting area was completely packed with people waiting for takeout orders, and we asked for a table. There were open tables that we could visibly see, but the person in charge of seating us was too busy tending to all of the tables of people eating. The very sweet girl working at the front counter had the phone ringing constantly, as soon as she would hang up it would ring again. More and more people kept pouring in, and at this point there were two or three other groups wanting to sit at a table. We were sitting kind of in a corner at this point, quietly waiting and feeling a bit forgotten. The young girl couldn't do anything to help, because the phone just kept ringing, and she was not able to seat anyone at the tables. All she could do was reassure people that we would be helped soon. I'm guessing the young man who was the supervisor for the evening came up, being completely unaware of everything that had been happening in the front, and started to scream at the young woman who was working very hard at the front counter. She was so overwhelmed by this that she was nearly in tears but she did an excellent job of staying composed, and it was so depressing for my small family, (knowing that we were houseless and this was supposed to be our Christmas dinner) that we just chose to leave. We went to another establishment that was open and extremely welcoming, and thankfully had a wonderful dinner there. The man who was in charge of running the restaurant that evening did a very poor job of keeping things organized, and the man who was working the tables should not have been completely alone on the floor. But worst of all the young girl who had constant phone calls ringing and people staring at her impatiently, did the very best she could under those circumstances, considering it was Christmas and they were packed with people. Her supervisor was completely unprofessional in front of all of the customers waiting. I've been thinking about her, and feeling sad about this situation ever since. I've always enjoyed eating at Wonder Wok, and I really love their food, but I haven't wanted to eat there since Christmas because of how sad this made me feel. I really hope that she will be treated better in the future, if she continues to work there. However, I hope that she no longer works there, and has now found a position that appreciates her....
Read moreMy husband and I were trying a new Chinese place out. We were seated right away to a clean booth. Brightly lit with clean and simple decor. Canvas photos of delicious dishes made were hung on the walls. The ceiling is fake foliage, and it's a nice touch.
The menu options were impressive, and vast, beautiful photos were taken by almost every menu item, so you could see what it looked like before ordering. Prices were decent. Combos, family style, and hot pot options as well.
We ordered a lot so we could take it home and eat like kings for a couple of days. We got potstickers, lemon chicken (brilliantly served with sauce on the side to ensure the chickens' fresh crunchy batter), mushroom chicken, pork fried rice, pork chow mein and dry fried green beans. Our drinks were soda and mint tea with honey. We absolutely loved everything except, the green beans were spicy (maybe I missed the warning on the menu, not sure), so that was a surprise I wasn't ready for, and the chowmein was good, but the noodles could have been pan-fried a bit longer to give the noodles more texture. However, every dish was hot, fresh, quickly served, and pleasing to the senses. The mint tea helped with the spiciness of the green beans. They have a hard and soft menu full of drink options as well.
Our server and the kitchen staff that brought our food were clean, well groomed, and polite. They didn't linger but were available for any requests when needed. This made for a great experience, and we definitely...
Read moreI think this restaurant is capable of making good food. Parts of the meals I ordered from them were ok, but other parts were quite problematic. As we couldn't eat our entrees, I went back to the restaurant and asked for a refund. After returning the food, multiple explanations and no apology, they did refund my money. One of the issues is that a dish not normally served spicy was extremely spicy, and this was not noted on their online ordering menu. My husband has stomach issues, and eating even a little of food this hot actually made him sick. I also told the manager about another major issue with the food that he did not wish to understand. I'll be kind and not mention it here. I understand nobody wants to hear that their food isn't good or that they're doing something wrong, but what recourse do consumers have if they can't go back to the place of business? Sometimes it's not just about getting your money back. It's about how you treat people who have been inconvenienced and possibly made ill by your product. Not everyone that...
