I read the reviews of this place and was excited to give it a try. I ordered the green curry and a Thai iced tea. The tea was delicious, the curry was not. It was watery and pretty bland. There were hardly any veggies and the chicken had a weird shape, color, texture, and flavor. I assume just very low quality. It almost tasted like it had been previously breaded. So weird. It was mostly a very watery, vaguely curry flavored broth, with bamboo shoots and the questionable chicken. It was also really expensive, especially since it was the smallest portion I've ever gotten at a Thai restaurant. I paid over $20 for about half the portion I would get elsewhere and way lower quality food. He's charging students $9 for a lunch size portion of fried rice as a "student special" which seems outrageous as well. There are lots of better options in town for Thai. It's wild to me that this place is rated as...
Read moreI have gotten takeout from Lee's Thai many times over the past 3 years but hadn't been there for a while. I was very disappointed in our order. The curry was watery, rather than creamy with coconut milk, lacking in meat and vegetables. I almost cried when I opened it. I poured it over the rice and it disappeared. The Pad Thai I got for my mom looked good, and they gave us extra peanut sauce so happy with that. My noodles with veggies and chicken were also disappointing: mostly (like 98%) noodles with a nondescript soy-like sauce and maybe 1/3 cup of veggies and a tiny portion of chicken. These items were expensive for takeout. I won't be back, although the owners are very nice. If I'm going to spend $50 on takeout, I want to be happy. My message to the Lee family: if you serve substandard food, you will soon lose all your customers. Too much good competition in Eugene to risk...
Read moreSaw this place randomly while getting fast food for my kiddos and looked at a few of the reviews. I decided it was worth a shot as I am not in Eugene often and enjoy trying new places. I called in the order for ease of picking up with little kids in the car. The server was super friendly and helpful recommending a few items other than the Pad Thai I ordered. I ended up opting for the sweet basil stir fry. Picking up was a breeze and my stir fry was in special so I also got a free Thai coffee. First impression was that they take pride in the presentation of their food and fresh veggies. I ate in the car with both kids crawling all over me and the littlest sharing cause she couldn't get enough. I loved both dishes. The chicken in the pad Thai has a light fry to it and the peanut sauce on the side takes the dish to another level. I will absolutely go back...
