This was the first time that I have ever gone into this coffee shop. I was prompted to try their coffee by a friend who is something of a coffee snob and compared it to Sump Coffee in the city.
I ordered the cold brew tiramisu and my wife had a cold cafe mocha. I brew my own cold brew, and have learned that it can be challenging to identify the right coffee so that it is not bitter and does not have a burnt taste. Despite the added flavoring in my drink, there was a bitterness to the coffee. I covered this with liquid sugar. My wife said that her drink was average, but that additional milk was required.
We ordered a danish with coconut on top and eggs Benedict with spinach. The danish was disappointing and seemed more like something like you would get at the grocery store in a pop open can. The eggs Benedict was beautifully presented. One of the two servings was excellent, and the other had far too much garlic and salt on it.
The little that we interacted with the staff was fine. The young woman at the counter clearly had not tasted many of their offering's. The manner in which they notify patrons that their drinks are up would be far improved if they would use the individuals name rather than screaming out the item/s. Although Iām not a big fan, the manner that Starbucks handles notifying patrons that orders are ready would be an improvement in this coffee shop. Finally, there is a fair number of tables and chairs. Nothing is plush but it is homey. Unfortunately, there is very little outdoor seating.
I would return again and order the eggs, Benedict requesting light, garlic and salt. In terms of the coffee, I would order something made with espresso that is more common to before making a final judgement on La Finca. Based on this experience, I definitely would not...

If you find yourself in Eureka for whatever reason, but are used to classic, more urban coffee houses, you should love this place.
Great for:
⢠College students. (It's a great place to study... or hide from your family while home on break.)
⢠Transplants from larger cities. Especially if that city had an artists/cultural district. (Think Delmar Loop.)
⢠People that know the difference between a Panera and an actual coffee house. Bonus points if you throw Starbucks into this category as well.
MISCELLANEA________
⢠It's in Old Eureka. The speed limit is 20MPH, and local cops enforce it. Hard.
⢠You'll still be wading through some people with the, 'I want to speak to your manager" haircut. That's just because of the location. Just don't try to pet them, feed them, or look them directly in the eyes and you should be fine. They seem to want to leave as soon as possible anyway.
⢠You'll have to deal with 'West' magazine as the free-read of choice. Hopefully they can start picking up the RFT, but their location may not make that a reasonable thing.
⢠The lounge area accommodates five or six people. If they become more popular they have the room to expand...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis summer I worked for a summer camp, and have been to a multitude of coffee shops all throughout Missouri! And none have matched this one! I got a 20oz Iced Vanilla matcha latte with light ice. It was slightly pricer than Starbs but I would much rather have there iced vanilla matcha latte with light ice, so totally worth the slight price increase! It was incredibly tasty, perfect ratio of matcha powder, milk and vanilla syrup! Not only was it absolutely delicious the ambiance was far superior than any coffee show I have ever been to! Me and my friend sat in the two middle chairs of the four at the bar top table looking out the window, it was slight mistake on our part since it was a little bit sunny that morning. But the view and the cute decor in the inside made the whole dine in experience totally worth it! While I did not try a pastry you do have access to that when you eat here. There are tons of options for drinks and fun snackies. So if you are ever traveling through Eureka I would recommend you stop and try out this fine establishment. Thank you to the incredible employees who helped make my experience at the coffee shop as...
