China Garden Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Evansville

I ordered from China Garden tonight. I usually order from Lincoln Garden but they are currently closed due to construction. And to put it nicely I can't wait til they open back up. I don't get chinese very often because my husband isn't a big fan. So when I do I consider it a treat. First when I called for delivery the lady on the phone was very abrupt and very rushed. I ordered the honey chicken combo which came with fried rice and an eggroll. I also got the small portion of chicken Lo mein and an order of crab rangoon. I should also put that they only have one size portion of crab Rangoon which is 10. I definitely didn't need that much as I was the only one eating. Kinda wished that there was a smaller portion. The lady on the phone said it would take 45-60 min. I said ok but to be honest I felt like that was a long time. When I order from other Chinese places it only takes about 15-20 min. It did take 50 min for my food to arrive but was expected since they did tell me it could take that long. The food was ok yet disappointing. My eggroll was very tough and not all that warm. Like it had been sitting out for awhile. The noodles were ok but the chicken was funny tasting so I took all the chicken out and didn't eat it. The crab rangoon was good. However I got sweet and sour chicken with my combo and not the honey chicken I ordered. I was not happy but I was ok with it cause I like sweet and sour chicken. It just wasn't what I wanted. But my biggest problem I had was with the delivery driver. I understand that people smoke and I could care less if you smoked in your car when bringing me my food, but to stand on my porch with my front door open, with my 6 month old son just inside and smoke a cigarette while blowing the smoke into my house is not ok!! Just for that I will not order from China...

We used to drive by this place a lot, and always wondered about it, so about a year or so ago, we tried it out. Well, that was a mistake, as that experience taught us to never go back. Sure, the food was OK, however, there are Plenty of places to get Awesome Chinese Food that is not just OK, but, well, Awesome!!!

The people were not all the friendly, however, it is OK, as they may not speak English very well, or at all, so we are kinda used to those kinds of things.

However, we both like to wash our hands before we eat, and there was No Soap in the restroom, and no Towels to try our hands. Also, there was NO Toilet Paper! Makes me wonder, do they even wash their hands before they cook the food?

How do they take care of their own personal bathroom needs? I can understand you not wanting people coming in to use the bathroom and then leaving, however, we were paying customers.

So, for us to go back to a place like that, well, it is never going to happen. And another negative for me is the over priced soda pops in a can.

I stopped ordering from here a couple years ago because they said my card didn't work so I paid cash. Later I found out my card did work and they said that my refund would be available after a couple days. It never got returned and it wasn't a ton of money so I let it go and decided not to order from them for a while. I tried again today and I got charged almost $85 dollars for a 30$ order! What the heck?! I asked how that happened and she said they put the tip in wrong, but, that wasnt possible because I hadn't even received my order yet. They literally charged me a random amount. 😳 A $15 dollar discrepancy is understandable.. I guess.. But FIFTY DOLLARS is not. The food is really good sometimes... But that will be my last order. And if y'all do order, pay cash! They also gave me the wrong items and the food seemed old eventhough they...
