Lin's Asian Express — Restaurant in Evansville

The food is good, fresh, and I love the open kitchen. However, they are very busy during lunch being the only place near the hospital and they are grossly understaffed. The two cooks did fine keeping up with the orders. It's the server that had the issues. She took table orders (for about 10-15) tables, and phone orders, PACKED those phone orders, and cashed out both dine in and carry out orders. I was alone and in a rush. I asked for plain white rice and to pay for my order right away because I would have to leave quickly. She ignored both requests because she was too busy scribbling down the orders and rushing off before you'd finished speaking. At times, when she went back to the kitchen area, she had trouble reading her writing back to the cooks. Even prior to my food coming, I'd put my credit card out to pay, as I said, I was in a hurry. She did not take my card until over twenty minutes after I'd received my improperly prepared food. I don't believe it is a language issue. I believe it is an issue with a family owned restaurant not wanting to hire outside help for their busiest time. Better management would make the service more pleasant...

Arrived around 5pm was promptly seated. The restaurant itself is small but has a nice feel to it. Clean and laid back not to bright in the building as well which is nice. We ordered the food and it was quickly brought out. To be honest it was the quickest I've ever had brought out to me I'd say max 15 minutes for everything. The steak hibachi was very tasty and reasonably priced you also got soup and a salad with it. Big portions! You will not leave hungry at all. The crab rangoons were huge but tasty. The sushi was fresh as well. You do pay with the square app if you use your debit/credit card. In total spent $33 dollars (pre tip) and some change for all the food in the pictures. I live right up the street and this establishment went from being me and my wife's favorite Chinese restaurant in town to we never order here anymore all because the parents and original owners allowed their kids to obviously take over and the quality of the food is absolute garbage now. It seriously makes me want to cry. It was so good and now they don't even allow dine in. The take out isn't the same at all. All the food stes I'm those closed containers so nothing that's suppose to be crispy is. It's trash. Sorry it's absolutely garbage now. I had a long 5 star review about this place for years and now replacing it with this. You want my business again then fire the kids. Open the dining room and bring the original owners back to make the food. Good...
