Old Tyme Deli & Meat Shop is a local gem for food. Every weekday this restaurant has an awesome lunch that is different everyday. Just to mention a few meals during the week, Saulsberry steak with mashed potatoes and green beans, spaghetti and lasagna with garlic bread, meatloaf with green beans. Beef and noodles don’t remember sides, All right let’s go to the best part every weekday they have hamburgers and you can get a single double triple if you want it but they are the best cheeseburgers hands-down in my opinion Evansville has a offer. The icing on top of the cake is the cookies Old Tyme deli & meat shop has the best cookies you’re missing out if you don’t get one. I come and get 3-4 cookies everyday. I work construction and everyone of my crews eat here every single day that’s how good it is nice home cooked meals. They also sell local chips drinks made right in Evansville. You can also buy your high quality meat products here they do not sell low quality meat. The staff is very friendly and courteous they will great you like your family every day. Supplies only last so long you better get here before they sell out which will happen every day because the locals know this gem. I would and do recommend this gem to friends and family also coworkers. Out of the 100 people I recommend this gem to not one person has been disappointed it’s that good. I read some of the reviews on this page about Mike the owner being rude. I can't imagine him being rude to anyone. We've known Mike from way back when my son was little, he is almost 27 now. Every time you went into the store that he owned then, he would always give the kids cookies or some kind of goody. My son used to love the little gourds at halloween. Mike would always let him pick out a couple. My son would be thrilled. Mike is a super nice guy, all I can say is there had to be more to the story of these people saying he's rude, No Way! The guys in the shop are always friendly and outgoing to make your visit memorable. The cookies are to die for whether it's chocolate chip or peanut butter. They have down-to-earth prices, something different every day on the menu and delicious food to top it all off. You couldn't ask for a better place to stop and get lunch.
