Los Bravos Mexican Restaurant (West Side) — Restaurant in Evansville

Dinner of 6. We were seated quickly but took forever to get our drinks ordered and to order for our meal. Waiter did not speak English clearly and was difficult to understand. Took more than twenty minutes to get the check after I had to flag him down to get it. One of the meals we ordered did not come out with the rest and there was a long waiting period to get it. There was a boil advisory and I know they could not help that so that it is not why such a poor rating. The food was sub standard and my taco salad was rather bare. We were not pleased with our visit. I will have to say that the bathroom was clean despite its cosmetic flaws at the women's sink and really old fixtures. It wouldn't hurt for the the restaurant to be more updated as Hacienda is right down the road. I did not pick the restaurant for this evening as a family member did. I must say that Hacienda will be getting my business for Mexican food in the future. Hacienda has a better menu and has never presented as a par restaurant such as Los Bravos did this evening. This was very disappointing. I am giving them two stars because while there were many complications the food tasted good.

We were a large group. When the server took our order, he took each persons drink and food order immediately instead of just drink orders.

The server did not ask if our group was going to be all together on one ticket or multiple tickets.

The server also never asked what meals/drink went on what tickets. As 4 different families eating together, we ended up with 7 tickets, and none of them were paired correctly.

Even though all food was ordered at the same time, only 2 or 3 meals would come out feom the kitchen, leaving many disassitisfied children.

I asked to have my alcoholic beverage removed from my bill because it was too much for me to even sip. The server had to wait on the boss, who then became upset with me, and had an attitude. They also asked if i wanted another. We were already at the end of our meal and preparing to leave.

I understand that we were a large group, and i am willing to give them another try. For now, im sticking with a 2 star because there were so many issues in...

I've been eating at the location since 2000. The food and service have always been phenomenal. I moved years ago and always eat here while in town. Last night, I was in town and had to get the best Mexican around. It was pretty disappointing. The Goyo special. It used to be cast iron cooked chicken sauteed with onions and peppers, with a cheese sauce, rice and beans. The chicken had been boiled and chopped up. There were very little peppers and the "cheese" was watery. I mean very watery on my place. I asked for cheese and choked it down bc I was hungry. It wasnt good. The rice was hard. My organic margarita was legit tequila and orange juice. The menu did not describe the drink having oj. I'm a bartender. This was the worst margaritaive had. They replaced it with a "skinny" margarita. Which was full of sour mix and Rose's lime juice. I'm not sure what happened to Los Bravos but I hope the get it corrected. What a disappointment.
