I have been to El Sabor de Chihuahua many times before. The food has always been good and the staff friendly enough. Today I went and did not have a good experience.
When I arrived at the restaurant with a friend there was one man standing and waiting to place his order and there was a group of men standing back or sitting who looked like they were waiting for their orders to be filled. My friend and I got in line behind the man waiting to order. After he placed his order, some or all of the group stepped in where he had been and started placing their orders. I thought: OK, they were here first; they could order first. While they were placing their orders, one or more other customers got in line behind me.
By the time the men ahead of us finished placing their orders I had been waiting for about 10 minutes. This was not a big deal, though perhaps it used up some of my patience. When a member of the staff asked who was next my friend signalled that he was, as did the man who was in in line behind me. The staff started taking the order from the man behind me. At this time I told my friend that I was going somewhere else to eat, and he joined me.
I don't know if the man behind us was with the group or next or not. I was not keeping track of everyone in the restaurant and am not used to doing so. I could not tell if anyone was trying to be rude.
If the staff was wondering why I walked out, this is it. I hope they learn from this review and make the restaurant a more enjoyable place for everyone. All the same, today's experience is not one I want at lunch, or any other time for that matter, so I will not be returning, nor will I recommend that any...
Read moreLike Subway, but great Mexican food instead of skimpy subs. The burritos are HUGE, Steak isn't chewy or rubbery, ground beef isn't soaked in grease, and you can choose everything that goes in and on your food, even the type of beans. When they say slather your burrito in rec sauce, they really mean SLATHER, but the red sauce isn't too strong or spicy, and is flavorful.
An $8 burrito is hefty enough to be split between two people. Even the quesadilla is big enough to split, has plenty of filling, comes with rice and beans, and can have sour cream added.
I've only had one slightly negative experience and it was with just one of the women taking orders, but the other server was kind and...
Read moreVery good food, friendly staff. Music plays in the background as you watch how they prepare your chosen meal. The portions are very large. You'll need two hands to hold the torta or the burrito. I highly suggest trying this location if you're looking for some Mexican food. There's a large television in the smaller establishment and gorgeous pictures of what I assume to be native Chihuahua, Mexico scenery.
It's down the street from Boeing, Aramark, ITT Tech, Cascade Coffee, the Phil Johnson ballfields, a church, FedEx Freight, Campbell's StockPot, among numerous other warehouses and...
