Food is good, prices are ok. A little bit cheaper than Subway, but the portions are a little bit smaller as well. Good variety. Convenient store/deli combo is a plus.
Most of the time their customer service is good. But I had a bad experience today. Went in at about 12:30 to order a sandwich to have later on in my day. I ordered, went to the register and paid, waited for about 5 minutes, he gave me my sandwich, and I left. Then I went to the business next door to order two tacos to have before my shift started. (I work 1 - 9, the sandwich was for later in the day). When I came out of the second business, the guy from Pickle Time was standing outside and he flagged my down, "You didn't pay!" He was clearly upset, and speaking to me as though I had wronged him.
Confused, "I did pay. I had the tuna melt." But all I could think was, "How do you not remember me paying?"
"Hold on one second."
I followed him back into the store.
"My system shows that your order is not paid for."
"Then what DID I pay for?"
He tried to say that maybe my card was declined or that the was an error and my card wasn't charged, and insisted that I pay full price for the sandwich I had already paid for. I checked my banking app and showed him that I was in fact charged. $10.54 to Pickle Time.
"None of our items are $10.54."
"And yet that was what you charged me."
He showed me again that his system said my order was unpaid for, and I showed him again that I had in fact paid.
"Your order should have been $14.55."
"Look, I'm happy to pay the difference, if you want to charge me $4 more dollars, that's fine. But I'm not paying another $14 on top of the $10 I already gave you."
So that was what he did. He then insisted on taking a picture of my phone that showed I had been charged $10. And then I left. Later I found out he actually charged me $4.40.
When I finally did go to eat the sandwich, it wasn't even what I ordered. It was turkey and bacon, not tuna.
I can only assume he made a mistake when ringing me up, but that was an inconceivable possibility to him.
So to review, instead of realizing that he made a mistake, I was spoken to and treated like a thief, and I was overcharged for an order that wasn't even correct.
I choose to eat there because I like to support local businesses, but I'm hesitant to go back. In the future I'm probably just going to go to Subway if I...
Read moreWent here yesterday and ordered food for my kids, and myself and a couple of friends. Spent over $60. Maybe we ordered the wrong things but I ordered the chicken burrito and I was very disappointed in it. It had the smallest amount of chicken in it than I have ever had in a burrito. The ratio of beans/rice to the meat wasn't comparable, this burrito should be named "Carb special." because the protein was almost non-existent.. Don't get me wrong though, the rice was good but they over did it way to much to make the burrito appear larger than it needed to be.
Now lets talk about the mac and "cheese" salad. I bought two extra for my friends but I should have taken a closer look at it. It's mac salad with very tasteless sauce and cut up kraft single slices in it. Not something I will be craving anytime soon and it's way overpriced.
The idea this place has is great, it seems to try to cater to the "American idea" of portion sizes but honestly it doesn't need too. That burrito would have been perfect smaller with more protein added in and less filler. The sandwiches were also good (Ham and a Roast beef lunch box)but not something I would pay $60 for again, ever. Nothing special about them at all. They didn't even have pickles! The place is called Pickletime but doesn't give pickles with the lunch boxes?? That was odd..
Also ordered the Tukey/Bacon melt, that was delicious, no complaints from my friends at all. Simple, to the point, well besides no pickles to eat.
The majority of the stars in this review are based on over all flavors, friendly staff, and the amazing cookies. However, I honestly wouldn't recommend this place to someone in a conversation. For way less money Subway would be a...
Read moreFirst time in: Ordered the: "California"
Three star for the good, friendly customer service and cleanliness.
Minus two stars for the sandwich it's self.
The sandwich: I ordered the "California", it was okey. The avocado slices were not ripe and were more like chunks. The bacon tested a bit off, as if it was the precooked, shrink wrapped bacon filled with chemicals... The turkey meat was not seasoned so the overall flavor or the sandwich was bland. The lettuce was not crisp and the tomatoes we're pink, watery and translucent.. (I had to remove them) definitely not worth the $8+tax I payed for this one sandwich with no sides. (The COMBO: drink, fry, sandwich is "$11.99" OUTRAGEOUS 😲! ) I can and do make a much better deli sandwich at home with the ingredients that I have on hand and next time I will, for sure.
I suppose for those of whom do not make their own sandwiches at home and have nothing else to compare these to, might enjoy a sandwitch from here and be willing to pay the high price, but I will not be a return customer nor will I recommend others to try.
The sandwich basically just filled me up for lunch without giving me a meal that I at all enjoyed while at the same time, leaving me with a bad, funky bacon taste in my mouth that water would not wash away.
I would actually have preferred a sandwich at Subway across the street as they hold more flavor than the one I had, and for a less price and I do not like Subway at all.
I will add, the free...
