Last Sunday, June 25th; my husband & I finally treated ourselves to dinner at 1 of our FAVORITES--IVAR's 41st & Colby-Everett!! Have been to other locations, but 41st & Colby has been most consistent in delivering top-notch service with excellent seafood choices with friendly, welcoming, polite & caring staff!! Ordered 2-Clams&Chips and 1-5 Pc Cod Fish only. For dessert, we had to try ALL 3 CHEESECAKE choices Huckleberry, Irish Cream & Peanut Butter. I must admit; these desserts were calling to us from the minute we left Ivars. So we took a bite of each and agreed that the IRISH CREAM IS THE BEST out of the 3 choices. It was EXQUISITE! From the 1st bite to the last crumb... It's just the right amount of richness; sweet cream hits your palette, along with velvety, smooth notes of vanilla, mild chocolate & hints of the famous Irish Whiskey deliciousness! It's PURE PERFECTION!!! Definitely recommend this cheesecake to everyone šŸ˜‰! The Huckleberry was good & would be perfect for berry lovers. The berries topping was just the right amount of tasty sweet and tart balance. And the Peanut Butter would be perfect for someone who just loves P.B. sweetness and richness. It was just a tad bit too sweet for the two of us. I must say - "BRAVO Ivars!!! Once again, you've delivered yummy greatness to 2 huge fans of yours!!!!" EVERYTHING WAS ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!! Thanks, Ivars! We rarely eat out, so this was most certainly the BEST TREAT for my hubby & I to end our extremely busy 7 day work week!! (FYI-- Atmosphere N/A since order was a "Pick Up") P.s. I forgot to mention this very important note: the items we ordered are WONDERFUL as leftovers!! The Clams & Fish outer coating/breading holds up well when reheated & tastes just as delicious as when it was 1st eaten!! This is the AMAZING THING about Ivars šŸ„‡šŸ‘šŸ¼šŸ‘šŸ¼šŸ«¶šŸ†šŸ’ÆšŸ„‡

I apologize for my long-winded rant!!! Thanks to everyone who reads my entire review and I hope this is helpful info! I wish I'd taken pictures, but we devoured the yummy meal without thinking...

Not being a local, but with family around Seattle and Everett, I am often told of the 'greatness' and 'must-try-ness' of Ivar's. Now I have, and I gave them three stars. About the same as I would give you're typical Jack in the Box or Wendy's. My experience consisted of the sourdough beadbowl of their signature chowder, and fried Alaskan pollock (which I ordered without fries as I certainly would be full and wouldn't eat them).

It seemed to take a long time to get my food (probably only subjective, I doubt it was really any longer than a special order at McD's), but while waiting I had two fend off two separate employees that seemed to think I would desperately need one or more moist towlettes.

The food came (with fries, of course), and while I would certainly give them another try, it was nothing to write mom about. I found the chowder bland, needing to add both salt and pepper. The bread-bowl turned too mush way too fast, and where they had cut the plug and toasted it, it was like a rock. The fish was soft, and preferred to break apart rather than scoop up any tarter sauce (I know pollock is a soft fish, but crispy breading and correct cooking temp makes it work). The tarter sauce was about what you get in a bottle marked Kraft and designed more for a long shelf life than for flavor, and their cocktail sauce had no bite.

In short, if you are really hard up for some quick fish and chowder, go ahead and try Ivar's Seafood Bar, but if there is a Skipper's within 20 miles, or a Mo's within 100, go...

This is my extremely unprofessional experience of the 41st st ivars.

I am addicted to their bread bowl. So good. I had my first one down in seattle. So i went into this ivars since im usually in the area. I went in one day and got the bread bowl. The ladies were so nice and helpful. My lady and i met up later that evening. I tell her about how great the bread bowl is so we go a few hours before this ivars closed. Once again, great experience. The ladies even gave my lady extra clam chowder.

Great right??? Wrong. A few days later my lady has one of her friends, who is a mutual friend of the manger at the 41st st ivars, sam, tell her i have been going in there constantly and "aggressively flirting " with all the ladies in there to the point it made them so uncomfortable that they had to hide out in the kitchen until i left.

Ok. I had been in there twice and one of those times with my GIRLFRIEND. I encourage ivars to go over the video footage of that day. I left a complaint with the regional manager whom asked sam the manager to quit and she continues even after being reemed by her regional manager. I am seriously considering a lawsuit.

Good choice of management ivars. I will never be returning to this or any other ivars...

One of my favorite places to treat myself to seafood around here. I go back and forth between the chowder and bread bowl and cajin fish & chips. I'll try more it all looks so good. And I love the fact the prices are consistent. I was so surprised to find even the Mukilteo waterfront location has the same prices. Not sure if the same apoes to Seattle area I've never tried down there but I've been to this location and the Mukilteo locations a few times now and they're both always fabulous. Other plans fell through for dinner in the area so I decided to come here. Busy day and long weekend. Well deserved and always great service. Thank you!! šŸ˜‡

Ivar'sĀ is aĀ seafoodĀ restaurantĀ chain based inĀ Seattle, Washington, United States, with operations in theĀ Puget SoundĀ region and inĀ Spokane, Washington. Did you know that Ivar's also owns the Seattle-basedĀ burger restaurant chain Kidd Valley Hamburgers? Ivar's was founded in 1938 by SeattleĀ folk singerĀ Ivar Haglund. Having built Seattle's firstĀ aquariumĀ on what is nowĀ Pier 54, he decided to add a companionĀ fish and chipsĀ bar to feed his visitors. The bar was short-lived, however. On July 22, 1946, Haglund opened a new restaurant, Ivar's Acres ofĀ Clams, at the same location. The aquarium closed ten years later, but the restaurant remains.
