This small town brewery and pub is loaded with character! The architecture is so charming. There used to be a brothel upstairs and rumor has it, some of the ladies of the night still haunt the building.
But you don’t visit a brewery for the spooks, so let’s talk beer. The Siloam Irish Stout is fantastic! My husband had it while visiting a year ago and couldn’t wait to go back for it. The Spruengling is the Atlas version of Yuengling and is delightful. Overall, they have a nice variety with several styles of brews to choose from. They also keep a rotation of high end bourbon for the non-beer drinkers.
The atmosphere is great! Cheyenne is an excellent bartender. There’s always a pool or shuffleboard game going. The bartenders are helpful and efficient. If you’re staying at the elms, it’s super close and a great alternative to the...
Read moreUsed to be a great place for the locals to come and enjoy a cold drink and catch up with friends. But I've discovered ever since new owners and renamed the Atlas.. The bartenders are rude and slow... The crowd is different... Very unfriendly.. Bottom line is I do not patronize this business anymore. I take my money elsewhere!.
12=31=2018 Decided to give this place one last chance to redeem itself but let's just say...FAIL! A friend invited me out for a drink tonight... New Year's Eve... Mao my because she had two free Fri tokens she was told had to be used before the years end. Well not only did the bartender embarrasses us by sayi g quite loudly thatrheydk t honor them anymore... As we turned to leave he stated that we had to turn them over to him. I felt belittled and scorned. They will definitely never get my...
Read moreThis is a great little old time saloon in downtown excelsior springs. Dates back to the 1800’s. They make 5 craft beers that are on tap 365 days a year. Don’t let that seem disappointing. Each beer style is truly at the top of its game. Liquid perfection. Best Hellas I’ve ever tasted. And the Schlitz based (Atlas Brew) original recipe? Delicious. Who knows why schlitz quit making it like this but they made a poor decision at some point in their history. Kolsch , Irish Stout and Scottish Ale round out the list. No IPAS or Sours which was great with my wife and me. We will gladly travel from KC again just to...
