I am trying to knock out spots on my bookmark list. I treated my mommy and fam to brunch and figured today was the perfect day to swing by the popular Benny's. It was the best decision I made today by far. A small tiny spot in the middle of nowhere it seemed that had GREAT FRIENDLY CUSTOMER SERVICE AND AMAZING FRESH FOOD . It is absolutely PERFECT for brunch and by how our food tasted I would bet the dinner is just as AMAZING!!
SERVICE/CUSTOMER SERVICE: 5 out of 5 Stars (I would give 6 if allowed) : No reservations are allowed at this location, so it is a first come first serve kind of deal because it is so busy and small I would assume. On certain days the wait may be long but let me tell you, it is worth the wait SERIOUSLY. Patience is key young grasshoppers lol! To accommodate the wait, if their is one which I don't think there will be based on the efficiency of the staff. They had some complimentary samples of cakes to try which i sampled when I paid my bill. I sampled the "Raspberry Crumb Cake" OMG It was Sooooooo Good.
We were seated right away once we entered the establishment. The atmosphere is workman/family like. Not flashy and more of a family style which was fine with me because from my experience those places usually have the best food and service. Then we were greeted by one of NICEST, SWEETEST, Most GENUINE waitresses ever in Ms. Lori. Her personality alone made it worth the trip for my family and I. She was funny, professional and extremely helpful being our first time to the restaurant. If you go and she has your table be prepared for a fun ride lol. You can tell Lori knows her job and most importantly enjoys what she was doing because it oozed out of her pores in everything she did. She was easily one of the most efficient/personable waitresses I have ever had. We were still laughing about some of the conversations with her long after we left that's the kind of impression she left on me and the fam. Lori you were one of the best and please NEVER CHANGE.
All the waitresses and staff as whole made you feel at home as soon as you walked though the doors and I loved it.
FOOD: 5 our of 5 Stars: I can't stress how much I love their food. As you enter inside the aroma of great smelling food just SMACK you right in the face lol. I ordered a Egg whites omelette with tomatoes, cheese, Turkey sausage and home fries. WOW is all I can say. The home fries were perfect with the right amount seasoning and I cannot put into words how good it was. My mommy ordered Rib Eye Steak and Crabcake Smoothered In Hollandaise On and English Muffin With HomeFries. Listen Mannnnnnnnnn !!!!!!!!! JUST ORDER IT YOU WILL THANK ME LATER LOL TRUST ME !!!!! My cousin ordered the Chicken And Waffles Smothered In Some Amazing Gravy. This Waffle's Texture And Fluffiness was just Flawless Perfection and combined with well seasoned tender chicken and gravy made for a PHENOMENAL DISH. Listen the hype is real about this place. Ohhhhhhhhh Yeah almost forgot the Dessert was amazing as well which was Mint Flavored Ice Cream on a huge Chocolate Chip Cookie With an ice Cream Cone as well as Whip Cream and Cheery. Read that description again and then ask yourself do I really have elaborate on how it tasted................. Yeah I didn't think so lol
LOCATION: The private parking is a little tight but you still should have an issue finding a parking spot once you arrive. Very easy to find via Google Maps etc.. In a nice quiet area like in the middle of nowhere. No issues at all here.
Overall This place was one of the best combinations of Cost Vs Quality And Portion Ratio's And The Customer Service just pushed it over the top. Their is nothing negative I have to say about my experience not one thing. They have numerous options for desserts besides those crazy milkshakes they are known for such as brownies, pastries, cakes etc.. Lori I will be back...
Read moreFirst of all who put only one dollar sign for this place? I just paid $17.53 for a Reuben! And it didn't even have any Russian dressing to help eat the almost half pound of dry pastrami! Hardly any sauerkraut either. And if you are ordering delivery or you are taking it out, make sure you ask them how they are going to serve the sandwich. I got two pieces of rye bread on the bottom, with a pile of pastrami on top, tiny bit of sauerkraut on top of that and then a very thin layer of melted Swiss cheese. All in all very disappointing and not worth the life threatening drive on Rt 4 in Paramus to get there! Anyway when I called back the owner said she would give me another one, made the right way, on the house next time I came in. also tried to tell me that it was impossible that I didn't get Russian dressing on the Reuben because they have been making them for umpteen years. So I suggested that I could send her a very detailed picture of the Russian dressingless sandwich, at which point she knew she was done. So that's something. This is my second attempt to find a decent Reuben in Paramus. Neither attempt ended in success. See my review of Harrolds!!!!
Such was my review on yelp. 20 minutes later the owner responded with the ubiquitous owners response to criticism whether founded or not, which is their right. My review was just stating the facts for you all to decide. Anyway, about 15 minutes after reading the response I suddenly had to go to the men's room, here in my office building. Well guess what? Diarrhea!!! Was in there for 20 minutes. I never have diarrhea, so once again these are the facts,...

For over 25 years, Benny's Luncheonette has offered an excellent opportunity, and my partner and I came for brunch as first-timers today. No reservations are allowed at this location, so it is first come, first served.
Upon entering this cozy old-school diner vibe filled with old memorabilia of phonograph records and wall posters, we were greeted by the staff and able to get a booth along the right side of the restaurant where the aroma of great-smelling food just SMACKED one right in the face.
The menu was extensive with good selections for breakfast, lunch, or brunch. We decided on the Grilled Cheese Turkey Bacon sandwich and a side of Home Fries as well as a Florentine Omelette. To my surprise, they had empanadas in chicken or beef, which I tried their beef. It was absolutely delicious, not greasy, as it was baked with a thin crust.
Complimentary mini Chocolate Chip muffins started our meal. The rest of our food arrived hot and was tasty, fresh, and well-seasoned. Prices were very affordable, and the portions were generous. The service was amazing and attentive, and our server was Jamie. Overall, this place was one of the best combinations of cost vs. quality and portion ratios, where the customer service just pushed it over the top, which we...
