3 of us went to lunch for the buffet. Very dissapointing. The server was uninviting. We asked to see the buffet before we committed to it because it seemed like there were only a few dishes. The server said that only ONE us can go see it with an attitude. She let everyone in another party go see it, so I don't know why she acted this way. My friend saw that the buffet was half empty but we thought it would be refilled. We were wrong; in the entire hour we were there, only 2 dishes were refilled. The buffet has Ceviche (the only good dish there), Papa a la Huancaina, Tamal, White Rice, some type of Sopa de Mote, Salad, Saltado de Pollo (not Lomo), Seco de Pollo (not traditional since it should be beef at the least, this was never refilled), Pollo a la Brasa (this was not refilled). The dishes were all kind of bland with the exception of the Ceviche which was good. The server only came by once to ask if we need anything else, to which we asked for water but she only brought one. She then came to get the plates along with the check. It was not worth the price of $24.99 plus the drink, taxes, and tip. I would recommend that you go somewhere else for lunch. Bad service, not enough food,...
Read moreWe’ve enjoyed Chilcano’s since they opened in Seven Corners and finally tried the newly opened Fairfax location! My mom is Peruvian, and my family and I have been to Peru multiple times, always missing the food most when we return to the US. My husband and I had Pisco Sours but with maracuyá (delicious), and the kids got lemonade, which was fresh! We started with the anticuchos (beef heart), which we all devoured. My 8-year-old assumed it was steak, and it was so tender and smooth that she couldn’t even tell it wasn’t - she ended up eating half of the appetizer. I had Ceviche and my husband had Lomo Saltado. If you can handle spicy, be sure to get your entree with the rocoto sauce! Both of us really enjoyed our entrees, and the ceviche tasted fresh. The kids shared 1/2 chicken and two sides, and it was plenty. I tried the chicken, and it had really great flavor. To end, we all shared picarones…they were freshly made and HOT,...
Read moreWe had a really disappointing experience. My child’s chicken tenders were undercooked — the chicken inside was actually raw. The aeropuerto plate I ordered tasted fine, but it looked like everything was thrown together without much care. My husband’s steak was completely overcooked and very dry.
It also took a long time for our food to come out. The restaurant was extremely loud, and it sounded like there was a party going on in the kitchen. We could hear men yelling and cheering — it seemed like they were watching a game rather than focusing on cooking.
Overall, I do not...
