Okay, we all know the big draw for men at Hooters, those owls on the lovely ladies who work there are something to behold. I'm not a man, and I admire beauty regardless of its form. In this case I'm talking about wings; I had the pleasure of utilizing a coupon tonight and ordered some Medium Hot Wings, and some Smoked Wings with Samurai Teriyaki Sauce. To use the coupon I had to download their app, which I had great difficulty using, but I was determined to get my wings. At one point in my order I felt it necessary to call the restaurant for some clarification on flavour profiles, and I'm glad I did. The lady I spoke with was very helpful and understanding, though I had, at times, difficulty understanding her. It's rather loud in that restaurant; consider the 15 ish televisions on different stations, patrons, waitresses, and I think there might have even been music too! But perseverance paid off, and I placed my order. The app was good for telling me exactly when my order would be ready, and offered to navigate me to the restaurant; very helpful in that respect. But I've lived here for the better part of 40 years and didn't need directions, so I can't say if the directions were accurate. Another thing I liked about the app was it gave me the option of paying in person when I picked up my order. I don't like to put any financial information on my phone, and I was happy this app allowed me to continue that practice. When I arrived there was a family leaving, and I was happy to find a parking space quite near the entrance. I was greeted just inside the doors by genuinely happy smiles and "welcomes". I let the ladies know I was there to pick up a to-go order and one of them asked me to follow her to the bar area. She then disappeared into the kitchen while I paid for my order at the bar. It turned out that it was was the bartender I had spoken with on the phone, and she was glad I found her advice helpful. As soon as I finished paying, the other lady returned with my order, all bagged up and ready to go. I didn't check the order before leaving, and really didn't think about it until I arrived back at home. Lucky for me everything was perfect, and just as I had ordered. Maybe not lucky for me actually, I think it was because they really know what they're doing and they strive to keep their customers happy. I know I'm happy, and I'll definitely keep Hooters in mind next time I...
Read moreHooters gets a specific connotation, and maybe there is justification for that. However, I want to talk about the great service - specifically COVID related - I experienced meeting a friend at this specific location.
Walking in they quickly took a temperature and asked quick health questions. They clearly had the safety and well being of their patrons in mind.
The patrons were all VERY spaced out - I saw no one within even 15 feet of one another. A dedicated entrance was set up for carryout folks to ensure those dining in were not introduced to those picking up, and vice versa.
The staff wore masks and were conscious of COVID concerns. They were quick to take care of needs but not hovering. Paper towels were not left on the table, but provided as need/requested. Menus were provided by scanning with the phone, but a paper menu was given if requested.
Finally - the food was great! If you have not had their smoked wings I tell you I cannot recommend them enough. I introduced them to the person who invited me and he LOVED them. They are great and they are like half the calories of the rest of their wings. Try them with the dry rub. I really think they are great. Also, if you like heat, give the fried jalapenos a try. Picture fried pickles but with jalapenos in place of the pickle. Not for the faint of heart when it comes to spice, but if you like jalapenos you'll love em.
Finally, if you like beer they do a GREAT job of mixing some local brews as well as the staples you tend to see, and a bunch more you may not. It really is enjoyable by more than just those trying to flirt with a waitress, and it was refreshing to see they took COVID...
Read moreWent in to watch the hockey game with some friends. Ordered AYCE wings and beer. Server wasn't very attentive to our table, and took time for her to come back to reorder. Placed an order for a beer and was informed that it was going to be my last because of a 8 drink limit. I wasn't informed about the limit when I ordered my 1st tall beer, which counts as 2. I would have had something other than Miller lite if I'd known I'd be getting cut off before I caught a buzz. Server forgot the beer for another person at my table 4 separate times, last of which she didn't return til after the game when we were ready to leave. He still got charged for it and had to get it taken off, which took even more time. I got charged for an extra item on my tab that I had to tell her repeatedly I didn't order, and was a blessing to finally get it taken off. I understand not serving someone to the point that where they can walk straight, but having a set number for every patron is not right. As well as the fact that they don't inform you if the policy until you guys your limit. I've been to the Fairfax and Chantilly locations many times, and nobody in my party has been cut off. I've also seen people who should have been cut off and clearly had more than the limit. If you're going to have a policy the customer should be informed, and everyone should be subject to the rules. This will be the last time me and my family will be visiting either location. There are plenty of other places that take care of the...
