PLEASE DON''T SHOP AT FAIRFAX, VA INDIA BAZZAR! Price gouging/Poor Ethics: While the sticker on the shelf showed a lower price, at the checkout they charged 40% more on the atta we bought today. The excuse from the person (who seems like a manager) standing at the checkout counter was that the price increased and someone replaced the incorrect price sticker (how is this customer's problem). We caught this because we were paying attention to the price that appears on the monitor. They refused to honor the sticker price even after questioning their business practices and didn't even own up their mistake
While all this was going on, the person at the checkout counter suddenly started rescanning the grocery items that is already in the bag. When we asked why she is scanning again, she said "I don't think i scanned it before and check the receipt after paying and we will pay if you find you overpaid". What an (awful) attitude towards customer? Why should customer pay their time for their lack of basic knowledge (that unscanned items don't go in the bag). While they were rescanning, the girls at the checkout counter speaking another language were laughing without empathizing the inconvenience they are causing to the customer.
Of course, we won't go there again. Would you shop at Fairfax,VA location of India Bazzar with such unethical practices and poor treatment of...

Read moreI had a horrible experience at this store. I bought a few packets of pani puris a couple of weeks back and after coming home realized it tasted foul as if the oil used was of inferior quality and felt unhealthy to consume. I decided to return it but realized that they don’t have the expiry date on any of the packets. But being a regular customer, I went to the store to return and inform the bad quality of product bought. As soon as I told the staff about this issue, they were not willing to hear me out rather they asked for proof if I had bought from their store and mentioned a sign ‘refunds only within a week if shown the receipt’, which wasn’t there the day I bought groceries. I even showed the same product in the aisle still resting with no expiry date and smelling foul, i even told I can pull the credit card history that shows the date of purchase but I soon understood that they had no intention of playing fair. I told them I won’t return to this store ever because of the nasty experience I had.
I would urge everyone to be careful and check the expiry date and demand return of products which is their right if found unfit for use or...
