20240820 the crispy cruller was skinnier and not as fluffy today. Tried the beef frank noodle soup. It was good, soup is thicker and a little salty for me. It left a taste in my mouth until I got home and brushed my teeth and tongue. I'm not a big eater but for $15.99, a little more meat would be nice. Not sure if I would come back. I can get crispy culler at Yu Noodles across the street. The owner is always very friendly and polite. 20240708 Came back for carryout. The young man at the counter is so polite. This time I ordered the crispy cruller, pork/mushroom dumpling soup, and the rice crepe with tomato sauce. All were pretty good. 20240628 I finally made it to this restaurant! I reviewed the menu items before coming here, and made a note to avoid anything made with snails. I had snails when I was younger, didn't know any better. Now, no thankful. I ordered the Crispy Cruller $3.50, something I had for breakfast with congee when I was growing up. The Crispy Cruller was so good, and I love that they cut it in small pieces, which helped consider half my mouth was numbed from a root canal. The Large Wonton Soup $14.99 without noodles was good, When it arrived at the table, I can smell the sesame oil, yum. It had about 10-12 wontons - I didn't count. The wonton had a decent amount of meat, pork - I think. The soup was delicious, but I didn't drink much of it because it has a unique smell that had me question if it was snail, but the waitress said that it wasn't. The Large Beef Chow Foon $15.99 was to-go, and when I got home, it was in a small container and had about 5 slices of beef. Very disappointing considering it was $15.99. I expected more meat in a larger container. I question if it was a small that I got. The Beef Burritos $13.99 were so good. The wrap was crispy, and they had the red plum sauce (?) that reminds me of peking duck. Even one of my pups loved it! When I go back, I'll get another order of the Crispy Cruller $3.50, Beef Burrito $13.99, and another non-snail dish to try. The service was good. What's interesting is that a review or two mentioned about non-customers using the bathroom. When I first walked in, I asked for a table, and that I am stopping by the restroom first. The employees looked concerned. I wonder if this happens often even with a sign on the door that restrooms are for customers only. If I really had to go, I would have at least ordered something in order to use the restaurant restroom. Anyway, I got the table, and everything (order and check request) was done on the website accessed with the QR code on the table. It was...
Read moreThis is hands down one of the best noodle shops I’ve been to, and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves authentic flavors and exceptional quality! My kids absolutely loved their Guilin rice noodles, popcorn chicken and beef burrito. It was their first time trying these dishes, and they couldn’t get enough! We had some leftovers of the beef wrap as we ordered too much food, and even after reheating it at home, it was just as delicious as it was fresh.
As someone who’s been a loyal customer of this restaurant for years, I can confidently say that their noodles are consistently amazing. I particularly enjoy their round rice noodles—soft, smooth, and perfectly cooked. The broth is simply outstanding: rich and flavorful without being overly salty, oily, or artificial. You can tell it’s made with care and natural ingredients because even after finishing a big bowl of soup, there’s no unpleasant aftertaste or dryness. It’s the perfect balance of lightness and depth.
This time, I tried their duck feet luosifen (snail noodles). Duck feet might sound unusual to some, but trust me—it’s worth trying! They’re fried to perfection, not greasy at all, and have a texture that’s almost like oyster mushrooms—soft, chewy, and incredibly fragrant. I also love their crispy fried tofu skin, which is so light and crunchy, it reminds my kids of potato chips but much healthier!
The owner is a talented woman from China who takes so much pride in sharing her hometown flavors. When we visited, she took the time to explain the origins of luosifen and even pointed out her most popular dishes. Her passion really shines through, and it’s clear that this isn’t just a business for her—it’s about sharing a piece of her culture.
The menu is huge, offering everything from luosifen and other noodle varieties to dim sum, stir-fried dishes, and sides. There’s something for everyone. The quality here is exceptional, and it’s no surprise that this humble spot has been featured in The Washington Post four times and even on Chinese national TV!
If you’re looking for authentic flavors that stand out from typical American noodle shops, this is the place to go. It’s a hidden gem with incredible food, wonderful service, and unmatched consistency....
