very disappointed. after hearing rave reviews from friends, we decided to check it out for an anniversary dinner. we get there and things seem a bit disorganized but we looked past it and got seated. after between 5-10 minutes, our 2 waitresses finally showed up. we ordered drinks/appetizers and all was well. when we received the hummus and flatbread, the hummus was watered-down with olive oil and had almost no flavor. i couldnât even eat it. after about 30 minutes of waiting for my food, i started to get hungry. after 45 minutes, still no food. an hour rolls by, no food. we then started getting suspicious. our waitress came over and said that there was a problem in the kitchen and our food would be out in 10-15 minutes. 10-15 minutes later she tells us itâs another 10 minutes. the food finally came but one member of our party had to wait extra long for his food. the food was extremely mediocre, especially for the expensive prices. my shrimp was decent and my âtruffled potatoesâ were basically just oversized french fries with parm cheese. another entree was scallops and they were barely edible due to the vast amount of salt poured on top of them by kitchen staff. the asparagus was burnt to a crisp. the salmon filet was somehow turned into a sandwich without my knowledge...? our waitress told us the cook was sick and they were trying to train new ones. we asked to speak with the manager and saw her sitting with other customers having drinks for a good 20-30 minutes. when she finally came over, she said the cook was called to the reserve. is he sick or at the reserve? it seemed like way too many excuses. the waitress did seem genuinely sorry for how things went down and i know it wasnât her fault but it was outrageous. they tried to offer us free desserts but we just wanted to leave after waiting for 1+ hours. itâs a shame because we had high expectations for homestead. worst part is we had a reservation so we werenât a walk in/large party. it just isnât worth it to spend $100+ on mediocre food. just go to your local wendyâs for better service, prices, and food. this was our first time visiting homestead and will definitely...
Read moreFirst time we ate there it was good, though pricey. We did not have a good experience this time (10-15-22). We arrived to table 36 at 3:40p. Food order went in at 4:08p. Food arrived 45 min later after I inquired where it was. Our server (Nina) blamed the kitchen staff. However, two tables who came in after us received their order before us - same kitchen staff, different server. Someone other than our server actually delivered our food, holding my plate with a towel and commenting it was the hottest plate he'd ever served! My food was hard & dry, obviously from sitting in the window too long!! McManis Cab Sauv ($7) was good as was hubby's jet black stout ($7). My black bean burger on gluten free bun was not only terrible it a was $16! It came with a salad that included croutons even though I told the server multiple times I was gluten and dairy free. Hubby's liked his bourbon apple scallops, but too pricey - a $29 for 4 scallops!! His came with a salad too and he got my croutons. I asked our server a question about their gin, she said sh'ed get back to me but never did. On the way out I complained to the manager who said next time we came in to ask for Jim and he'd make it right. Sorry, there won't be a next time. I let him know what went wrong and why I tipped lower than usual. I believe in tipping servers 20%+ but she didn't get that much! Total bill $73. WE live on a fixed income and only go out once/week. My husband is in a wheel chair. There were only two handicapped spaces (poorly marked). One was taken and one had a car half in and half out. I had to push him through gravel and two double doors to get in. Clearly not built with...
Read moreI can't begin to tell you how grateful and impressed I am. I wanted to celebrate my son's birthday. Because my son likes to eat at Homestead, I called to see if they offered a chef's table for the special occasion. The young lady who answered the phone said no, but asked me to hold. Chef Dan picked up my call, asked questions, and said yes. He would put a five course meal together for us. All he asked is I come in a little early before the busy rush. Absolutely no problem. Chef Dan created an amazing meal with wonderfully perfect wine pairings. He personally came to our table a few times to check on us. I have no complaints. If anything, I believe Chef Dan prepared a perfect meal. John waited on us. He was obviously in direct communication with Chef Dan. He kept us informed every step of the way. I was happy to meet Jerrod, who is the owner. He stopped to see how our dinner was and shared future plans. I believe Jerrod was justified in waiting to hire the perfect chef for his plans. Dan definitely takes Homestead to another level. John compliments the chef and is an extension of him when he delivers your food. I'm excited to see the new menu April 24. I'm also excited to see the new ideas come to life. Thank you for an amazing evening with amazingly delicious food. (I forgot to take a picture of our appetizer and our dessert.) I highly recommend Homestead, especially now that they have Chef Dan. Thank you for an...
