I had been working hard, full steam, all day and stopped at 8:30 pm so I could go get yellow curry for my wife. I arrived at the Pho Bistro at 8:45 pm and saw all the chairs up on the tables. I asked the two ladies at the counter if I could get an order to go of yellow curry. One said curtly to me, no the kitchen closed at 8:45. Then the other echoed, yeah it closed at 8:45. I personally would be very upset if I were the owner knowing the employees were closing at least a half hour early (as evidenced by the chairs upside down on the tables. The website says open till 9:00 on Saturdays and as a customer we rely on a restaurant or store's closing time. Bad business doing this. I am sure I am not the only customer affected by this behavior, especially if it is being done repetitively. I hope you take this critique to heart because you do have good food -- when we can get it.
[Response to owner's response] You are correct, we all had had a long tough day and that can indeed affect everyone's attitudes. Peace be with you and may tomorrow bring fresh joy and happiness to all.
PS, I have never been able to get ahold of anyone when I call during normal hours [tried a few times] and I always get an answering machine that says do not...
Read moreI would not give this place not even one star more like negative one - I walked in and stood at the door patiently. One server was literally 1 foot away from me helping another table, looked at me and just carried on - did not let me know that I can jst seat myself - no signs saying seat yourself - so I stood for 5 more minutes as the cook and another staff member looked at me from the kitchen doorway and said nothing not even a nod hello- just kept staring. Meanwhile there’s a guy walking around staring at me as well- not one of them said hello, nor did they say go ahead and seat yourself or anything - I got the girls attention who was 1 foot away from me and asked if I’m supposed to seat myself and she said yes -:9 I said I’ll be sitting outside in the patio. I go sit outside wait 10minutes and still no one comes out to greet me or anything. So I go back in and let them know that I was trying to eat there but apparently I am not welcome- the man proceeds to say I’m sorry I didn’t know you were waiting Outside. What a lame group of people ! I will never give them my business - rude people with horrible manners- seems to be the trend in this town. No thank you ! Theee...
Read moreIt has improved since I tried when first opened. Didn't try it again until last week when we ordered take out, consisting of Ramen Soup, Crab Rangoon, and Pad Thai, mild. My friend had the Ramen Soup and said it was good. The Crab Rangoon was ok, but the edges of the dough were overly chewy, not crisp. The Pad Thai portion was very large, but unfortunately tasteless. I ordered mild as it's easier to increase the heat than decrease it once the dish is made. The ingredients were fresh, but even so, I was very disappointed. However, my friend ate the Pad Thai for lunch leftovers the following day, and he thought it was quite good. The counter staff were friendly, quick but also attentive. I lived in NYC & the Metro area for many years, and was used to being able to access any type of ethnic restaurant I wanted. It was easy to find Vietnamese, Japanese, Thai, Burmese, Szechuan, Afghan, Sri Lankan, Egyptian, Ethiopian, etc, and this easy access spoiled me. That being said, I'm thrilled to have an Asian fusion restaurant here in Fairfield, and will definitely try...
